If you are a good player, you will play, no matter where you are. Elite travel programs will often have top high school middies playing defense on their teams because you simply can't run 15 middies in a game. The problem is TG bases their evaluations on the previous year's play. They do not practice in fall, and you can't call drills at the bubble practices, even though they are good for the price. TG start practices in May, but the coach is not always there. You will show up to the first tournament in June and positions will be the same as the previous year. Girls who put a full year's worth of training on their own, and a full high school season of lacrosse, are rarely given a chance to move up the talent ladder. If your daughter is not in the top 10-12 girls they view as starters, she will not have a fair chance to play as much, which makes it difficult to show improvement and get more playing time. This is fine for an elite D1 college program, where even the best freshman middies get on the field playing defense, but not for all who are still developing in high school. TG and YJ have some really good players sitting on the bench. Not sure if that's the way it should be when your daughter is trying to get recruited and develop as a player.
