This can happen when teams start playing showcase lacrosse and playing equal playing time. That’s what showcases are for.
If the Wiener top girls were playing and they were being “coached” to win by Wiener herself (they are not), that 1 loss would have not happened. They are still “mighty” and have some of the best 24s in that age group. Facts.
Most teams are all playing to showcase. With the exception of top guns and legacy, I have not heard any team completely taking time from kids. At this age, some kids will play less time but most of the time thats not purposeful. The way the cookie crumbles in sports is that each line is not getting second to second time because of how the game is structured. As a parent walking around yesterday afternoon, you could see that girls were being subbed every few minutes and that MOST teams were very diligent about making sure no one sat an entire half. Now will you get 15 minutes if another midfielder gets 15, no. One may get a few minutes more if there is no chance to sub, and again thats SPORTS.
