Just curious, what’s the deal with American Select ? Looking at the rosters it looks a YJ only thing ? Yes I saw a few other programs sprinkled in , but 90 percent YJ . Any thoughts on this? Sorry if this has already been discussed, I don’t visit the site often .
It seems like a lot of the girls who were not YJ girls decided to try out for Under Armour instead. The two events were run at the same time and Under Armour has been around and proven for a lot longer. It was American Selects first year. Considering the YJ directors were running AS, that’s where the YJ top players went.
Traditionally the Under Armour Underclass Tournament has been the most competitive HS event out there. Even in years when YJ's were not involved in the selection process or coaching the majority of the team was YJ's. AS is run by certain clubs and now both events are somewhat watered down.
