Top colleges really won't recruit too many undersized 2019 kids until they see if they will be getting much bigger. The Div II and III will recruit them heavily and see if they can get them to go for it..Way too much size at Div 1 now and the physical play will wear on them quicker. Not fair but it is what it is and the kids are only going to get bigger

Ok were back to this discussion again. Shall we go through the list of "undersized" players again? Oh and Div 2 and 3 really dont recruit until Junior year so I dont know where you got the "they will recruit them heavily and see if they can get them to go for it" statement.........

I can guarantee the Div 1 coaches don't recruit the smaller players yet that's for sure unless the child is lightning fast and quickest on their team

You people keep getting it wrong on the size thing. So many excell at their position being 5'9 and under. Please stop! Like the other poster stated, do we really have start naming named again? Can you play or not, end of discussion!

Who's naming names. It's not just about can you play. This sport like many others size is an issue and factor. The defenseman over the years have evolved into the bigger and more athletic kids, not like years ago at all. So being bigger is a huge advantage as long as you are athletic.

yes of course size is a factor but certainly not the only one. Coaches also look for the non measurables such as heart, discipline, character, and so on. You can be 6'4 but if you dont work hard and youre a knucklehead, coaches will go with a smaller player with the intangibles hes looking for. I know all the parents advocating size have big kids of their own obviously, but just because hes big doesnt necessarily guarantee him a spot on a Top 20 team going to the final four every year. D1 rosters are loaded with sub 6ft kids who compete and excel.
