In my town have seen upperclassmen who are bigger/stronger/faster get benched for 8th graders who weigh 120lbs soaking wet and when the PAL Director is part of a big organization and just so happened to play college ball with the varsity coach ..... well it makes you wonder.

No 8th graders should not be playing Varsity Lacrosse. It is a bad precedent, especially since most of the 8th graders pulled up are heading to SA's or Cham anyway. Why are these public school coaches investing in developing young, non-impact players who are leaving their teams? It creates a toxic environment for the rest of the players who have put in the time and does nothing for the long-term development of the program. Of course, there is always an exception- a kid whose stats and impact speak for itself. But very rare.

You sound silly when you suggest NO 8th graders should do this. Some small schools need to pull kids up to field a team. That doesn't mean that older players (and their parents) aren't going to (rightly) complain about playing time because of it.
