I have a question about allocation of the 12.6 scholarship. lets use a school like Fairfield or Villanova. ... if the recruiting class is comprised of say 10 recruits / commits. how much would each one expect to receive ball park? also, upon commitment is it a 4 yr commitment moneywise locked in for the player and school or is it renewable each year?
Athletic scholarships are renewed year to year. If your son or daughter is getting academic money, that is usually based on maintaining a certain gpa year to year. A coach can allocate his scholarships as he sees fit. He may offer more to a player who he has a positional need for or a stud that is highly recruited. Some kids may get nothing and they are happy with a roster spot because their parents may not need financial assistance. There are many different scenerios. Also, remember not all programs are fully funded so they don't have the full 12.6. There are many variables that determine how the coach handles his scholarship money.
