These kids will get in better schools but with a useless major at an unknown cost as described it the post regarding the negatives of holding back.

I don't entirely disagree, but if holding back your kid equals admission to a great school, one that may have been out of reach if left on grade, is it worth it? Not something happening in my house, but if you look at many of the rosters of most ACC/Ivy/Big 10 schools there are a WHOLE lot of kids who did just that. The main argument people on this site have with hold backs is it cheats a kid (theirs) out of a valuable starting roster spot. So let's not all sit on here acting like we're making the argument for the good of the game or some other high calling, it's all about what is best for ours.
