USC and most d1 college football schools hold open tryouts. Clay was good enough to make their team, and the rest is history. Playing football or basketball is a better option then playing lacrosse. Would you rather have to split your scholarship or have full funding. That's why only rich preppy white boys go on to play lacrosse, cause most families can't afford to have their sons play due to the sheer cost in money and amount of time that would lead up to what? A 1/4 scholarship? That's my 2 cents.
