There is an age cut off at MIAA schools, so kids can't play their senior year if they are too old.
But that age is 19 on Sept 1st of their senior year...which puts them at least 1 year older and sometimes 2 years older than their peers who did not hold back. Do not think for a moment that those hold back have not done the calculations themselves. So they can be 19 for their whole senior year of high school!
