A bunch of Ivies coming. Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Penn getting ready

committing to an IVY in 9th grade, how do they even know they'll get in? What will the test scores need to be? Isn't it a big risk that your kid might not get a 30+ on the ACT or score super high on the SAT? How do they make it work?

This will require a lot of "projecting" based on first quarter grades, and scores from standardized tests (SSAT that predicts SAT/ACT score), and then compute an AI range. Very loosey goosey at this point. A kid could commit and be in love with an Ivy only to not make the admissions cut, and is then left scrambling. Ivies make big lists, then start scratching kids off when data becomes available to gauge their AI. Gotta hand it to kids who commit to Ivies early and deliver on the grades and test scores.
