Can everyone just go easy on Blast please? That team has it tough. Do you think it's easy being the stepchild of the organization? Most "orange" teams are untouchable for the first 3-4 years and then everyone catches up. A lot of their teams play up in most fall/spring (and many summer) tourneys until 6th grade. Blast does not fit that mold. They've been good, but have lost several games every year (yes, even to town teams) and now they have been passed by Geese. They played up this fall and were completely outclassed on every level by mediocre teams. The truth is, the field has caught up to them already. They will likely still be a top 5 team after summer tourneys, but certainly don't hold the swagger of the past teams. Even putting JS's name on the team (making it the 6th most important lax team he coaches) couldn't save them.

Let's be clear, being a top 5 team is an incredible thing (even in a down year overall). They should be proud. The kids play hard and will win a bunch, but the parents just can't accept the reality (hence the "that was orange, this is Blast comments).

I think we are witnessing the demise of "orange". They can't even keep a 2nd team at the younger grades (2024 and under) and are becoming too expensive. The product just isn't what it was a few short years ago.

Legs will be the new big kids on the block. That program is on the rise. Taz, Geese and they grades to come are all solid teams. And they cost a lot less!
