My brother in law told me at dinner last night that his son plays on a Goose/Blast pickup team and they are thinking of splitting from their clubs and just running that one. That might bust things up a lot. He said a lot of the dads think the clubs are ripping them off and this is a cheap option with a few very good kids. Very interesting.
The best team and the best kids need the best coaches. Playing pickup is fun for the boys, but those kids are good from their own hard work, better coaches and a dose of genetics. Nice thought to save some cash, but it will not happen.
