Blast is doing the same thing. 2 midfielders from 2024 have reclassed and are playing with Blast. I guess the new coaches were instructed to win. Pathetic, but that's the new way of lacrosse.

But the kids would have to repeat a grade at school to do it. What parents are doing that at this age? And what kid would want to do that?

You must be new to this if you don't think parents are crazy. There are a lot of reasons parents do it, not the least of which is to give their son an advantage over other kids. But, besides that, it could be done for academic reasons or the family simply moved to a new town (which was the case with the Blast kids) and the parents had them repeat a grade. It's far more common than you think. Wait till next year when 40+ kids that your boy is playing with now repeat 5th grade because the parents fell that they're "not ready for middle school". It's becoming a joke, but a joke that is far too common. Especially if the LI teams want to stay competitive with the out of state teams and the Dukes Nationals,True Nationals, etc... that grab kids from virtually anywhere.[/quote

Now that is interesting. Was not aware of that. I thought lacrosse was simply grade based and there were no age stipulations.

If the sport ever gets itself together, it will be age based across the board, at least for pre-HS age . . .

AMEN!!!!

We can only hope they go to an aged based system. Until then my friends, any 6th grader playing 2025 is a cheater.
