Gilman, Severn, McDonogh - top tier in that order
LB, MSJ, JC - middle tier
St. Mary’s, BL, CHC, Spalding - bottom tier

St Mary’s bottom tier when it comes to facilities. McDonough probably has the best.

St. Mary's is bottom for facilities, and it's not even close.

Unfortunately St Mary’s has no space available to improve. MDLax got the Train rolling to Spalding now it is full speed ahead with top talent from Annapolis heading to Spalding.

Agree. It used to be that all of the best Hawks were a lock to attend St. Mary’s. The last few age groups have branched out to Spalding and even Severn. Best 25 and 26 Hawks are at Spalding and the best 27s went to Severn. STM cannot continue to compete if they don’t dominate the AA Co recruiting.

Not necessarily true for the 27s. Different positions went to different places. We will just have to see how they perform at the high school level.

My point was directed only to AA Co recruiting. There are many more of the Hawks going to various schools in DC and Baltimore. I’m just saying we need to get all the best Hawks every year to continue to be relevant. Especially the kids who choose one the 3 AA County locations. I’m not suggesting either Spalding or Severn will become dominant. Simply pointing out the shortcomings of STM recruiting in the last few years.

Anne arundel counties private schools have problem now. Before like poster said most kids would go to st Mary’s. Not the case anymore. Talent spread all over. St Mary’s and Severn will become bottom feeders. Spalding making moves have the faculties and money to compete with Baltimore schools. Spalding will become the premier school for AACO to compete with top miaa a schools. St Mary’s and Severn will become bottom feeders or join the B league just to compete for a championship. Times have changed. There is a new sheriff in AACO and it is spalding. #facts

The elephant in the room with Spalding is the new Old Mill HS being built and opening next year, a mere 200 yards from Spalding campus. There's a lot of concern there. Its a big negative Spalding has to navigate.
