Severn at Boys' Latin - At 3-1 in league play and tied with Spalding for 4th place, Severn will be tested today going against the co-league leaders in BL. BL has rattled off 8 in a row since dropping their opener to St. John's. Severn's 3 conference wins have come at the expense of the 9th, 10th and 11th place teams.

St. Mary's at McDonogh - STM is tied for the league lead at 3-0, but have not looked sharp lately. Still, they remain undefeated and are always a tough team. McDonogh sits at 3rd place with wins over both other teams at 3-1. They have won 4 straight since dropping one to BL to open league play.

Mater Dei at Spalding - Spalding gets a bye from MIAA play, but takes on a tough Mater Dei team out of California. At 3-1 in league play, they are tied for 4th with Severn. Both Severn and Spalding lost to 3-1 McDonogh to give the Eagles the 3rd spot outright.

Loyola at Gilman - Loyola sits alone at the 6 slot. The Dons are 3-3 in their last 6 contests, but their losses have been 1 goal games to McDonogh and Georgetown Prep and a 3 goal loss to St. Mary's. Gilman is tied at the 7th spot with Calvert Hall, so this game is big for the Hounds. With a win, they would jump Loyola and keep pace with or pass (unlikely) Calvert Hall. Gilman has lost 3 straight, a blowout to BL and 2 close contests with Don Bosco and Spalding.

Calvert Hall at John Carroll - The Cards sit at 1-2 in league play with the loan win vs. MSJ. They need this win on the road vs. John Carroll. It's early, but the loss at St. Paul's raises questions about just how good this year's CHC team is. JC got their loan conference win vs. MSJ and has since rolled over 2 public school teams. Can the Patriots put up a fight at home?

Mt. St. Joe at St. Paul's - MSJ sits in last place with no wins in league play with 5 straight losses. SP is in the 9th spot after dropping 4 of the last 5 with the loan win in that stretch over CHC. Both teams, despite their records, can grind it out if you don't bring your A game. Look for a close one. SP desperately needs this win to stay in the playoff hunt.
