Calvert Hall and Loyola have 130+ kids in their lax program. Not a lot of minutes to go around. Lots of kids wash out at those places. It’s why you see so many ch and lb helmets for sale at consignment shops.
Now one of CH’s best goalies can’t play in league games. He’s aged out. A few others too. This holdback stuff has gotten out of control.

Split that up among f/s, jv and varsity.
That’s a TON of kids. There will be significant cuts and opt-outs. And still not a lot of minutes.

As others have said, it depends on what the boys want out of their HS experience, and whether there is a realistic desire and commitment to play upper D1 or upper D2.
