Unlike the much larger number or percentage of kids who are expelled from our fine public schools, very few MIAA are actually expelled. Most are given the opportunity to leave immediately (as in, immediately, same day) before the formal vote/finding to expel.

Regardless of whether it's a true expulsion or "abrupt transfer," I would think that any lacrosse program would want to know exactly what's going on, and yes a college program can rescind an offer. It happens rarely in lacrosse but "sort of" frequently in football, baseball, basketball. Signed LOI has a pile of requirements for the student athletes and lots of "off ramps" for the school.

Kids are not really “expelled” from public schools in MD. It is a “right to education” state. They are put in an “alternative education program.” This is sometimes it’s own “school” or a fenced trailer facility or separate building on the back side of public hs campuses…or lessons are sent home
To the kids to be completed at home.
