I do not think those rankings are worthless. I agree where players get recruited from is important. I hear people refer to these rankings often, that is they shape perceptions about quality/ strength of teams. 2025 might be too late in the process to change many of these but if any 2028 or younger teams want to change common perceptions through national rankings the method is clear.
I have a 2027 and I'd say the rankings, least top-15 is pretty accurate. When you start getting into the 28 vs 40 team from different regions, it gets harder to say.
I do think teams get too much credit for beating bad teams. There are a few that don't have a top-10 team win yet are above several that do.
