He says it doesn't matter who you play for, just be good.

You're delusional

He is full of sh**! Look at who he recruits and where they play. Please!

So then can we expect to see him at some BS town tournament on LI this summer looking for that undiscovered gem of a player? Give me a break. Top college coaches go to the best tournamnents and showcases to watch the best teams play because they figure that is where they are most likely to find the best players. I think what he really means is if you are really good you will eventually get yourself onto a better team or into a showcase where he will find you. That is very different from telling people that being the best player on your 9th grade C team is going to get you noticed.

starsia or the original poster aren't saying best players on long island or MD C teams are going to get early D1 offers. But just because you're kid is on crush, terps, crabs, looneys, rising sons or whatever the top 2020 teams are - doesn't mean coaches will be lining up for every one of them. Be an impact player when they're watching. If you're a 3rd line player for a team that wins 15-8 you won't get recruited over the kid who went 3-2 for the losing team. Also there are kids that play in non hotbed areas that are straight up athletes but their teams are weak compared to top teams in northeast. UVA might not be the best example looking at their roster
