UNC was penalized for using metal cleat spikes at 10:00 minutes into game against Clemson, you have to wonder if that has been going on for some time considering the entire team had them on. That grass surface creates a different speed of play and limits lateral movement in comparison to turf. Could be attributable to the fact it was just raining, but historically away opponents do not move well on that grass and UNC does. I always drew it up to a sort of home field advantage as they are used to the surface but cant help but wonder how long this has been going on. Cleat checks will probably be requested at Dorrance for the foreseeable future now.
