My experience-

My 8th grade son, and others I am sure, is proud to be on the field with his older peers. He was asked to move up and earned the opportunity. He, and I, think he is no better than those above and before him. He appreciates his position and is working his tail off to prove his potential. On day 3 now, each day passes with respect earned and given to each other as teammates. He has a long road ahead, but as previous poster said, a journey, an experience. Just as we posters go back and forth on Brine and 3D this to will go on, as next year when so and so commits "too soon". I say, if your son or mine is there, he deserves it. It is an opportunity, his to seize and turn into his experience and carry out to his ability. Good things come in many ways, patience, assertiveness, hard work, respect and persistence. I trust him.......
