Owings Mills, MD		18-0250Season Complete: The Eagles finish 2012 as the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation, making it the third-straight time they have won the FAB 50 National Championship. Taylor Cummings scored the game-winning goal with 9.8 seconds remaining in the IAAM championship to win the Eagles' fourth-straight conference title. Eleven of McDonogh's 18 wins this season came over teams ranked in the FAB 50. The Eagles have the longest active winning streak in the nation at 69 games and had the distinction of ending two winning streaks greater than 50 games during their run. Four players from the ESPN 100 graduate, but five players on the Top 50 junior list along with talented sophomore Megan Whittle will return in 2013.
2 (2)Moorestown
Moorestown, NJ		26-0245Season Complete: The Quakers got three goals from senior Carly Taglienti and two goals each from seniors Stephanie Goldblatt, Nikki McMonagle and Stephanie Toy to win the Tournament of Champions 12-11 over Chatham. Moorestown defeated six FAB 50 teams on its way to the Tournament of Champions and Group 3 state titles. The win brings the Tournament of Champions title back to Moorestown for the first time since 2009. As good as Moorestown was in 2012, the Quakers appear set for the next two years with just five seniors graduating from this year's squad. The offense gets hit hard with five of the top seven leading scorers graduating, including Toy (34 goals) who was the No. 78 player in the ESPN 100. Sophomore Marie McCool was second on the team with 28 goals and should provide offense along with fellow sophomore Sydney Dalmass (12 goals) next season.
3 (3)Maryvale Prep
Brooklandville, MD		13-4240Season Complete: Maryvale won eight of its final nine games to advance to the IAAM championship game. The run included wins over four FAB 50 teams. Junior goalie Caroline Federico recorded 10 saves in the championship game against No. 1 McDonogh. The Lions' one-goal loss to McDonogh proved to be the closest any team had gotten all year to knocking off the Eagles. No other team got within seven goals during McDonogh's run to the title.
4 (4)Bryn Mawr
Baltimore, MD		16-2235Season Complete: The Mawritans were upset in the IAAM semifinal by No. 6 Maryvale Prep 9-7. Six seniors who are committed to Division I programs will graduate from the 2012 team, but three D-I commits in the junior class return, including Eliza Clemens (Vanderbilt) Ellie Knott (Denver) and Kate Snouffer (Georgetown).
5 (5)Saint Anthony's
South Huntington, NY		15-1230Season Complete: Seniors Darcy Messina and Annie Heagerty along with junior Maggie Bill each scored four goals as the Friars defeated Sacred Heart 19-12 to win their fifth-straight CHSAA championship. St. Anthony's posted six wins against teams in the FAB 50 this season and only lost to No. 4 Bryn Mawr. The Friars dominated the CHSAA, going 10-0 and handing Sacred Heart its only three conference losses of the year. Four of the six leading scorers will graduate from this year's team, as does senior goalie Tori Holland (129 saves), but the cupboard will be far from dry in 2013. Two of the ESPN Top 50 Juniors return, including No. 3 Maggie Bill who scored 36 goals (second on the team) and 16 assists this season. No. 13 Jenny Schwalje will return after scoring eight goals and six assists. Junior Alexis Nicolia (35 goals, 15 assists) returns with Bill to give the Friars a potent scoring attack next season.
6 (6)Century
Sykesville, MD		18-1225Season Complete: ESPN Top 50 Junior Haley Bordner scored five goals and the Knights' defense held Queen Anne's to just six goals in the final 36 minutes to win the Maryland Class 3A/2A championship 12-9. The victory is the Knights third title in four seasons. Century won four games over FAB 50 opponents this season, including a 9-4 victory over private school power Notre Dame Prep. The only blemish on the 2012 record was a 15-8 loss to No. 1 McDonogh. Three seniors, including two Division I prospects, graduate from the team, but Bordner (94 points) returns along with juniors Morgan Marrale (Old Dominion) and Kailey Wolfe (Pennsylvania). Becky Groves has led the Knights to a 33-4 record and two state title game appearances in her two seasons as head coach.
7 (7)Vero Beach Senior
Vero Beach, FL		22-2220Season Complete: Vero Beach won its seventh straight state championship with a 22-6 victory over Bishop Moore. The Fighting Indians have won 93-straight games over in-state opponents and posted two wins over teams ranked in the FAB 50 this season. Vero's 12-11 victory over St. Stephen's a St. Agnes was its statement win of the 2012 season. Senior Mackenzie Smith finished her prep career by scoring 11 goals in the final three games of the year, including four goals and four assists in the state championship game. Six seniors graduate, but Katy Pridemore, who led the team in scoring with 67 goals this season, will return.
8 (8)St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School
Alexandria, VA		26-3215Season Complete: The Saints wrapped up their season by bringing home the Virginia Independent Athletic Association championships. SSSA defeated five teams ranked in the FAB 50 this season, including Georgetown Visitation in the ISL tournament championship. The Saints graduate seven Division I players from their senior class, including defenders Emma Dyson, Paige Patterson and goalie Katie Wiseman. But SSSA returns eight Division I players in the junior class, including the top two leading scorers, Carly Reed (107 goals) and Besser Dyson (91). Sophomore goalie Gussie Johns who recorded 62 saves this season also returns.
9 (9)Georgetown Visitation
Washington, DC		20-2207Season Complete: Under first-year coach Aubrey Andre the Tigers finished the season as ISL champions. Georgetown Visitation posted wins over two teams currently ranked in the FAB 50, including a regular season victory over St. Stephen's a St. Agnes. A potential Top 5 team to start 2013, Georgetown Visitation will return four of its Top 5 leading scorers, including Tess McEvoy (64 goals), Kelly Myers (44), Mary Patalita (42) and Riley Christopher (37).
10 (11)Severna Park
Severna Park, MD		18-2203Season Complete: ESPN Top 50 Junior Morgan Torggler scored five goals and goalie Camille King recorded nine saves as Severna Park defeated Wesminster 13-6 in the Maryland Class 4A/3A state championship game. The Falcons' win was their 11th state championship and seventh straight win. 2013 could be bright with two First Team All-County players returning: Torggler and midfielder Ryan Bathras.
11 (12)Garden City
Garden City, NY		17-5202Season Complete: Alexandria Bruno totaled eight points on six goals and two assists to lead the Trojans to a 13-8 victory over Canandaigua to win the Class B championship. Garden City posted four victories over teams ranked in the FAB 50 this season. The Trojans' 55-game winning streak ended this season and that first loss since 2009 started a midseason slide in which the team lost five of eight games. But Garden City rebounded by winning its final seven games of the season to win its seventh-straight Class B championship. Four of the Trojans' leading scorers all graduate including ESPN 100 athletes Alexandra Bruno (93 goals, 41 assists) and Catherine Dickinson (51, 20). While the offense will have to find new scorers next season, the defense should be stout with junior defenders Linda Attanasio, Elizabeth Furman and Lily Schmitt all returning.
12 (17)West Genesee Senior
Camillus, NY		20-1194Season Complete: Emily Tripodi earned tournament MVP honors after she scored or assisted in the Wildcats final four goals to lead the team to a 9-5 win over Penfield in the Class A state championship game. West Genesee posted three wins over teams ranked in the FAB 50 this season, including defeating a Bay Shore team 10-9 in the Class A semifinal and St. Paul's School (Md.) 13-10 earlier this season. The Wildcats' six leading goal scorers graduate, including ESPN 100 athletes Kara Datellas (34) and Emily Tripodi (27). ESPN 100 defender Shelby Milne (52) also graduates. Among the returnees in 2013 are juniors Alia Hildebrandt (13 goals) and Andrea Francisco (57 saves) and sophomores Riley Donahue (12 goals) and Hannah Elmer (11 goals).
13 (18)Garnet Valley
Glen Mills, PA		24-3192Season Complete: The Jaguars completed a 24-3 season by defeating Strath Haven 10-9 in overtime to win the PIAA championship. Senior Hallie Barnes scored 23 seconds into overtime to give Great Valley its second-straight title. The Jaguars won six games over FAB 50 teams en route to its second championship. The senior class boasts six Division I signees, including ESPN 100 athletes Barnes and Ally Heavens.
14 (13)Bay Shore
Bay Shore, NY		18-2183Season Complete: Bay Shore's season ended abruptly with a 10-9 loss to West Genesee in the Class A semifinals. The Marauders posted four wins over FAB 50 teams this season, including defeating Class C champion Shoreham-Wading River. Bay Shore graduates its leading scorer, Caroline deLyra (74 goals, 45 assists), but returns the next six leading scorers. Kyra Harney (58 goals, 32 assists) and Kaitlyn Arnold (46, 10) along with junior goalie Dylan Teitelbaum (106 saves) all return in 2013.
15 (10)Farmingdale
Farmingdale, NY		17-2178Season Complete: Farmingdale finished its season as Class A Long Island runners-up after falling to Bay Shore 15-14 in overtime. The Dalers got four goals each from Nadine Hadnagy and Kimberly Kolodny in the championship game. Kolodny graduates and leaves a 90 goal, 24 assist hole in the offense. But the Dalers should be okay next season with the return of Hadnagy (40 goals, 22 assists), junior Amanda Turturro (51 goals, 36 assists) and sophomore goalie Olivia Kirk (106 saves).
16 (16)Shoreham-Wading River
Shoreham, NY		17-3178Season Complete: Jessica Angerman and Paulina Constant each scored three goals to lead Shoreham-Wading River to a 11-9 victory over Honeoye Falls-Lima in the Class C championship game. The Wildcats have won five state championships in six seasons. Shoreham-Wading River is primed for a stellar 2013 season with five of its top six goal scorers all returning next season. Senior Katie Boden was the team's leading scorer with 47 goals. Juniors Paulina Constant (33 goals, 14 assists), Alex Fehmel (29, 17) and Alyssa Pearce (26, 8) all return next season, as does sophomore Shannon Rosati (29, 16).
17 (19)Eastport-South Manor
Manorville, NY		15-3166Season Complete: Senior Allison Gionta scored three goals in an 11-7 loss to Garden City in the Long Island Class B championship on Sunday. The Sharks posted four wins over teams ranked in the FAB 50 this season, including defeating Hauppauge twice. ESM will graduate its leading scorers in senior Dene' DiMartino (56 goals, 15 assists) and Gionta (45 assists, 37 goals). The future is bright for the Sharks with freshman goalie Samantha Giacolone (167 saves) in addition to junior Marissa Gurello (30 goals) and sophomore Dakoda Mason (26 goals, four assists) all returning in 2013.
18 (21)Chatham
Chatham, NJ		23-3166Season Complete: Chatham was pegged as a team to watch entering the season and the Cougars did not disappoint. Three losses by a combined six points were the only blemishes on the schedule this season. Two of those losses were to champions St. Anthony's (N.Y.) who won the CHSAA and Moorestown in the Tournament of Champions final. The third loss was to Ridgewood in the regular season, but that loss was avenged in the Tournament of Champions semifinal. The Group 2 champions will graduate ESPN 100 seniors Liz Hyde (65), Jaclyn Leto (68) and Kallan Murray (94). But the team that won five games over FAB 50 teams this season will return junior Mary Kate O'Neill (53 goals, 24 assists) and Lauren Maiorano (28 assists, 22 goals).
19 (15)Radnor
Radnor, PA		21-5154Season Complete: Radnor had quite a run to end the 2012 season. The Red Raiders defeated Garnet Valley and Conestoga as it won seven straight games on its way to the PIAA title game. However, the season ended in the rematch against Garnet Valley in the semifinal, 15-14. Radnor's five losses were by a combined 20 goals, but that includes an eight goal loss to Conestoga in April. Seniors Elizabeth Lowry, Natalie Miller, Kristen Norden and Colleen Packer all graduate. Future Division I players Abby Junior, Shannon Quinn and Taylor Quinn will all return in 2013 and are all juniors.
20 (20)Ridgewood
Ridgewood, NJ		22-3151Season Complete: Ridgewood won the Group 4 state championship and reached the semifinal round in the Tournament of Champions. Led by seniors and Kelci Smesko (80 goals, 21 assists) and Kaitlin Concillo (70-16) the Maroons won two games over FAB 50 schools this season. Ridgewood only lost two of its final 15 games of the year. With juniors Lauren Beausoleil (53, 15) and Maggie Carver (47 assists, 40 goals) along with sophomore Darby Kiernan (35 goals, 12 assists) Ridgewood appears primed for another title run in 2013.
21 (26)Sacred Heart Academy
Hempstead, NY		15-4146Season Complete: Sacred Heart defeated two FAB 50 teams this season, including Florida powerhouse Vero Beach. The Spartans finished as the CHSAA runner-up after falling to St. Anthony's for the third time this year. Outside of the St. Anthony's losses, Sacred Heart fell to Class C champion Shoreham-Wading River. The Spartans' top six leading scorers all graduate in addition to senior goalie Emma Salter who recorded 138 saves this season.
22 (14)Shaker
Latham, NY		17-2146Season Complete: Shaker had quite a run in 2012. The Blue Bison handed Guilderland and North Rockland their only losses of the season during a postseason run that helped them reach the Class A semifinals. Shaker won 12 of their final 13 games before losing the Penfield 5-4 in double overtime in the semifinals.
23 (25)Hauppauge
Hauppauge, NY		16-3145Season Complete: Senior Taylor Ranftle scored three goals and added three assists in Hauppauge's season-ending 14-9 loss to Eastport-South Manor. The senior scored 65 goals and added 63 assists for the Eagles this season, leading the team in both categories. Hauppauge has been a consistent Top 25 team this season, posting three wins over teams in the FAB 50 this season. Two losses to Eastport-South Manor and one loss to National Champion McDonogh were the only blemishes on the season. Hauppauge graduates its top three scorers from this season: Ranftle, Lauren Descalzo (56 goals) and Jenna Vinci (35). Sophomore Darla Poulin is the leading returning scorer for next year's team after scoring 23 goals and dishing out five assists this season. Junior Jessica Volpe will return after scoring 12 goals and freshman attacker Keri McCarthy returns after scoring 13.
24 (24)North Rockland
Thiells, NY		19-1-1133Season Complete: The Raiders' first loss of the 2012 season proved to also be its final game of the year. North Rockland won its first section championship and reached its first region final in program history this season and posted one win over a FAB 50 team this season. The Red Raiders handed Lakeland-Panas its only loss of the year and will return sophomores Lauren Mazza and Kaitlyn Rau next season.
25 (22)Guilderland Central
Guilderland Ctr., NY		18-1133Season Complete: Kendall Cietek scored two goals in a 9-8 loss to No. 14 Shaker in the Section II, Class A championship game that ended Guilderland's season. The Dutchmen posted one win over teams in the FAB 50 this season, defeating Shaker during the regular season 12-6.
