Taylor Ranftle had five goals, including the winner with under three minutes left to lift No. 1 Hauppauge (16-2) in a Suffolk Class B semifinal game. Lauren Descalzo had three goals and an assist and Lindsey Alfano added three draw controls, five ground balls and two caused turnovers in the win.
Meanwhile, Allison Gionta (3 goals, 2 assists) scored with eight minutes left to give No. 2 Eastport-South Manor (14-3) an 8-3 lead in a Suffolk Class B semifinal. Samantha Giacolone had nine of her 16 saves in the first half for Eastport-South Manor, which plays No. 1 Hauppauge in the Class B County Final on Thursday, May 31 at 5:30 p.m. at Dowling.
Danielle DellaRocca had five goals and four draw controls to lead No. 2 Mt. Sinai (13-4) over No. 3 Babylon in a Class C semifinal. Kasey Mitchell added a goal and three assists for Mt. Sinai, who will play Shoreham-Wading River in the Class C final May 31 at 3:00 p.m. at Dowling.
