Hauppauge should be proud. They have become a really good team. Their game against McDonogh as tough as it was will help them in the playoffs. St Anthony's was incredibly hyped and was a complete disappointment in their effort and preparation. They could not defend BM at all and BM is by no stretch a McDonogh. It was worse than the year before. Garden City played a team in McDonogh that was completely ready to play. The next two weeks, we will see what type of team GC really is. Maybe there should have been other teams involved but the challenge of this tournament is that the teams need to be picked way in advance for logistic reasons. Exciting to watch. Games like this clearly reveal the strengths and weaknesses of teams, coaches, etc. It will never be perfect, but for the first time out this was pretty good.
