Class C Championship Match - Final Score SWR defeats Honeoye Falls (Section V), 11-9
Class B Championship Match Garden City vs. Canandaigua (Section V), 2:30pm
Class A Championship Match - Final Score West Genesee (Section III) defeats Pennfield (Section V), 9-5
Highlights
Down 6-3 at halftime and down a man throughout the second half due to yellow cards, the Shoreham-Wading River girls rallied to outscore Honeoye Falls 8-3 in the second stanza to take the Class C Championship. Honeoye Falls rattled the pipes on five shots in the last ten minutes of the game.
In Class A, Section III and Section V did battle with West Genesee coming out on top with a 9-5 win demonstrating class throughout the final few minutes by not firing on the open goal from Pennfield. One of the best examples of sportsmanship that we have seen at the girls championships this year.
One match remains this year with all eyes now on Garden City and their attempt to garner their seventh straight title.
