The top 100, the pre season players to watch and the year end awards always go to the stat leaders. Some are the best of the best and some are stat builders that beat up on over matched competition. Sadly there are very rarely any defenders that get accolades. In a sport where selfish play is now the norm, nobody ever praises good defense.

Every other sport moves the ball around. Unfortunately in lacrosse its very easy to hold the ball and your possession so the selfish ones can keep it and reset over and over rather than pass. I can't even be mad at my daughter for not scoring, she is open and in the right spot but the many wont make the pass. Their parents must have promised them slurpees
