Look at High School roster sizes because they usually tell a towns story. Full benches with max rosters means everyone is forced to share the ball at the younger ages which keeps lots of players involved. Small HS benches and teams with limited subs usually have town programs that revolve around a few players.
Most of the 2020 call ups this year to JV and Varsity will be from weaker towns that need bodies. 8th graders that deserve to be called up are sometimes left down because they play in strong towns with big player pools.
