There is room for 16-18 players to get meaningful game time on each roster, which is around 70-75 players total. So if your son is one of the top 75 rising ninth graders in the DMC, you want him to be either a starter or a meaningful sub on one of those four teams.

If he is already a starter, you probably have more to lose than to gain by changing teams at this point. If he is not getting on the field as much as he wants, it probably won't be different at the other three, so you should consider dropping down to the Top Caliber or TRW level.
