Attention to Hawks Parents - what in the world is going on this year? A top 5 program for 5+ years and now can barley beat teams in HOCO? Coaching? Player development? Lack of talent?
They are struggling to upgrade talent. Nobody in the area wants to go there. The toxic culture that's been created is something that families are staying away from.
I’ve said this before. They peaked in 5th maybe 6th grade with bigger, stronger players who are now average sized. Coaches and a bunch of the parents seem like jerks too.
I got no love for Hawks but aren't they undefeated in Hoco so far? What's the issue here?
Very good point. The Hawks 4-0 record means the same as the Crabs 4-0 in the standings. But the Crabs are winning by dominant scores and looking like a dominant team on offense and defense. But five teams have played close games against each other (Hawks, VLC, MadLax, True, and 91) and it looks like any one of those five could beat the others on any given day. Kudos to the Hawks for grinding out one goal wins against three of the other four teams. But they do not look like the team that they did a year ago, let alone two years ago, especially on defense and LSM. That is the issue.
Crabs dad here, they beat us a month ago, and we havent beaten them in years. We'll see who is better in a few weeks.
