Anyone who holds their kid back before Kindergarten reg. other than for scholastic reasons is a 'Cheater'. Pure and simple. Can NEVER be fully trusted. And believe me, their close circle of so called friends (and town) know this. And if you don't think people don't talk about these parents behind their backs, they do. And it's usually not positive.
So your excuse as to why your kid's team lost is that people are cheating and planned this out 8 years ago by holding their kid back? And that these people started their kid late in kindergarten purely for lacrosse? And they had the foresight to know that youth club lacrosse was going to go grade based in Long Island and trickle down to MD? All this after their kid might have played 1 season of rec lacrosse? And these parents would all come together to put their kids on the same team (since the MD teams are all holdbacks)? All so they could be on a winning team 8 years later in 7th grade? I think you win the conspiracy theory game.
