The key words in anything is someone WAS an excellent versus someone IS an excellent player. The IS excellent works hard everyday to stay there. The WAS became committed and stopped working hard. So important to work hard all the time. I don't care what you do-School, band etc. Always try to excel(believe me there will be plenty of time for relaxation with having this drive as well)
We see this all the time...still lots of time to change that course which is great for young kids.
