Where do the HB's practice out of? Is it mostly nassau or are there suffolk kids as well?
Practices are in Dix Hills at a few locations but all within 5 minutes of St Anthony's.
They have kids from as far South/East as West Islip, as far North/West as Port Wash/ Manhassett, as far South/West as Merrick and 3 kids from the city. If that doesn't tell you something about the experience those coaches are providing, nothing will. The Parents are great, all the kids hang out together etc... Very very well run.
It tells us a few things 1. There are very few choices for 9-10 year old's to play. 2. LI is full of very qualified lax coaches, and in the next few years kids and their parents will have plenty of quality clubs to choose from. 3. As good players try out for travel for the first time, its best to AVOID established teams like express and 91. Parents have put in a few years and the drama is over the top. And taking playing time from an established player or the coaches kids is very difficult. Those coaches got in early to protect their son's and his friends. 4. more quality clubs will give more travel benefits, plenty of great players can choose to play closer to home.. its worth it 5. There is zero chance ALL the kids on these two teams will make it the long haul. zero.
