Its very interesting how players and their abilities are changing so much in this particular year. Many of the boys are now maturing at an incredible rate both physically and mentally. It is amazing how coaches especially college coaches are so willing to commit to players at such a young age (14 and 15 years old). I think we all have been around those boys who seem to be way more physically mature than the others on his team. Most of the time they are the biggest, fastest, and best on their team at a young age like 5th through 8th grade. Interesting thing is most of these boys will have reached or peaked on height and size earlier than most. There is a nice indicator its called parents. Usually if dads 5'5 odds are kid will grow a bit taller but not a whole foot. It is during the next few years where many boys will pass these early bloomers in height and weight. If the skill was there these boys now will have the edge. So parents don't fret if your boy isn't one of these early commits. Teach them to be hungry and work hard because their time will come. Remember an early commit is just verbal, nothing more. These coaches really only care about one thing and it's their job. Some do it with more dignity and honor than others but it's still a job. They need to win or lose their job. Good luck to all the boys in 2018 and keep working
