Maybe the people complaining are experiencing this for the first time because they don’t have older kids. This is the age it becomes noticeable and a real issue because of puberty. They (the parents) have every right to complain.
Club LAX isn't alone in being grade based. Most youth basketball leagues are GRADE based.
There are also tackle football leagues that are GRADE based. There is a local league near me that is grade based and boasts that 9 NFL players have come up thru their program.
