Since last season, isn't Rye on a 3-0 win streak over Y? If so, someone will have to check the record books and see when the last time Y lost 3 consecutive games to a single Section 1 opponent. Better look back to the pre-1980's. Y's schedule this week is a true test; Home games against Darien and Cold Spring Harbor and away at Chaminade.
Y cannot live in the past. What happened 5-40 years ago is over and done with. High level lax has become a “rich man’s”sport. Look at the new landscape of top level lacrosse, Rye, Bronxville, Briarcliff, and all of the private schools. No knock on them, just the way it is. Y is also becoming a baseball town too, tons of families moving into the town who have no understanding of lacrosse and dads grew up on baseball and are having their kids play that instead. Y still has a phenomenal youth program and will always be competitive but will not walk through section 1 anymore.
I agree (100%) that the landscape has been changing and Y will no longer be able to walk through Sect 1 anymore.
