The lohud player of the year is John Mitchell of Iona. He led the HV with 110 points (53 g & 57A) which indicates he is a well balanced player and is heading to Holy Cross.
The article goes on to say he lives in Rye. Could you imagine if he stayed put, played for Rye and competed against Y with Boyer. I'm guessing that Rye would still own Y.
If someone did the "local players stayed at their public HS" scenario, that would be a great tourney as IP and Brunswick players would change the landscape playing for schools like Scarsdale, Rye, YTown, etc.
