91 is the best, no one is close after that. Rebels win was a total fluke if you watched the game. Their depleted opponent was far superior and they blew it and played an awful game in terms of shooting and penalties. Kudos to Rebels for capitalizing and seizing the moment, but any objective observer, which I am, knows this. 91 is a cut above the rest on LI. Rebels played their way into the conversation for 2nd tier by virtue of that win and Rush played their way out of the conversation by virtue of their weekend performance.
91, Legacy/Rush and Express will get stronger, all others will shuffle and get diluted. The brand matters. Put it in the bank.
Brands do matter in our society however, they should not matter in 10/11 year old sports. The whole concept of ranking these teams and trying to justify winning or losing based on who was depleted is nonsense. 91 and Express are the biggest organizations and some people choose to pay more for their product. They are successful and have a track record to prove it. Does that mean that all the others should just fold up shop? No of course not. They all are in it to make money (bottom line). Keeping our kids active and off the video games or screens is probably the most important piece of all this. Having them build friendships and learn to win and lose with respect and dignity. Sports can teach life lessons and some cost more than others. If you pay attention at most youth lacrosse tournaments these kids are having more fun off the field than on it. I hope everyone enjoys just being with their kids and watching them grow and develop. Good luck to all the teams this weekend regardless of where someone wants to rank them.
