Are you referring to the “great group of coaches” that prioritize playing time to their sons and their sons friends? What a joke!

Programs with parent coaches: 91, express, legacy, mooselax, rush etc

Programs with sideline parent coaches: all of them

^^^truth^^^

And I don’t have a horse on the 91 team but say what you want about them playing their sons or sons friends...they still dominate Long Island teams as of late but we shall see if that holds true this spring.

There is no dominant team at this age. Many clubs have some dads coaching. At 10/11 years old its fine and dads connecting with their kids shouldn't be seen as a negative. Tough spot is that parents pay big money and expect their kids to get a fair shot. The top 91 team at this age does as well as any of the others so it seems to be working as far as wins and losses. This age group is very competitive and has about 4 or so teams that can win on any given day.

Just look at the 91 2026 team as a barometer. Same coach. The 2026 team was dominant in 5th grade also. 2 years later it’s a mess. Daddy ball works fine when the the kids are younger. Eventually kids(and parents) realize they aren’t getting a fair look. They leave and word gets out. Then kids stop coming to tryouts cause they know they won’t get a fair look either. Thats pretty much what happened to the 2026 team
