Surge is a new team not just by name. Half the roster is new. New coaching staff and yes, parents are new and excited to cheer on good play - some for the first time. There was nothing derogatory yelled at kids or parents, so don't lob this into a Rebels/Turtles like "classless" conflict. It is a new B team just like Dune Dawgs, who will certainly develop and be more competitive by summer. Sad that parents call cheering on good play classless.
The parent the ref yelled towards was in fact the parent of the boy who got the penalty. He was swinging wildly after losing a ground ball, most likely out of frustration. He had 3 slashing penalties in the game and was clearly either not being coached to stop slashing or he wasn't being coachable. Everyone was trying to set him right and trying to help. The ref did do the right thing to tell the parent to let the coaches coach. Hopefully that young man keeps working with his team, coaches and parents to play the right way and trolls on this page don't hurl insults at a good day of developing young men to play right.
