Since when does trying to put a great team together make the Expess leadership scumbags? They will not kick existing players to the curb...unlike the fl$ and most other programs the Express will have at least three teams in the 2016 grade and there will be a spot for everybody. There are new kids that show up for tryouts every year and in every grade - 2016 is no different than any other grade. If these new kids are just better than the existing Orange kids, then...they are just better and some kids will have to drop down. In all of the other grades that have multiple teams the Express Orange is known to be the best. Why muddy the landscape now with "Barracudas"...just keep it simple...Orange will still be the team with the best 22-24 players, Blue will have the next best group and White for the remainder. It doesn't need to be more complicated than that. It sounds like the current 2016 Orange team would become the Blue team for next year and so forth...I don't see why this is a problem...If better kids show up for the Express tryouts then they deserve to be on the best team...at this age it has nothing to do with loyalty...it has to do with putting the best 22-24 kids out there. I'm sure not all of the current Barracudas would make the team in a real open tryout...there may be one or two fl$, Maverik, Express Orange, Bandit or other kids that show up that were overlooked or not known about when the Barracudas were formed that are better than some of the Barracuda kids. The bottom 10-15% of kids on almost every club at every grade always turns over. There is no reason to think the Barracudas will be immune from the inevitable roster changes to make the team stronger from year to year. The question is, will the 2012 edition of the Cudas come from the overall Express tryout pool or will they be picked again by one father. I hope the former...

I gather if this year's Express Orange 2016 had won a bunch of tournaments and were considered the team to beat in the grade, there would be no reason for the Express to mess with a good thing and the 2016 Cudas would have had to find another home with fl$ or wherever...Although the trend is early, the Cudas and Turtles seemingly came into younger grades where the Express was not very competitive. You will probably not see wholesale shakeups like this happen in the grades above where the Express Orange 2013-2015 teams are already extremely strong and well established.

Does anyone know if the Cudas played in the Bitter tournament (Stowe VT) this past weekend? I see there was an Express team entered in the U13A. If so, how did they do?

When someone from the express comes on here under his real name and explains the real truth about this team, them I will listen. There is way too much conflicting info to even be bothered reading through it all. The only thing that I believe to be true is that express was one of he last teams if not they last to announce try outs at this age group and their date is before everyone else. I bet they will sort through the kids first and try to lock in the better ones so they don't try out for the remainding teams.

A few things - 1) there is no tryout for barracudas. Period. Any tryout is to save face, like you said, orange to blue, blue to white, etc. 2) Active recruitment is ongoing. Tryout fees for barracudas? Try again. 3) you don't like it? Tough! if you really don't like what Express did then hurt them where it counts - the wallet. Express no longer has a stranglehold on elite tournaments, people should know this by now. Can't wait to hear about the playing time for this group - 22 kids, good luck.

What does it say about the Express that their 2016 Orange team finished dead last at Tri-State, but did well after stealing players who had already committed/played for other clubs? Must have really good coaches in that program.

These All-Star teams can work for a single tournament, but fall apart later. Either the distance is too far to travel for practices and/or kids want to play with their real buddies.

The joke is every dad or mom that is bashing this team, would have and still would jump, at the opportunity to have their child play on the team. Hypocrites every last one of you.
Every one that takes their child to a summer travel team does so in hopes that their child not only develops into a better player by playing with better players but also because the travel team in most cases is more competitive then their town team.
They are looking to give their child an opportunity to play on the best team that they possibly could, well guess what the Barracuda parents I'm sure are looking to do the same thing.
Please lets not use the "loyalty card" because that goes both ways. Do you think the Express, 91. fl$ or the Outlaws will think twice when it comes to dropping your child from the A team to the B team if your child's level of play starts to drop.
Don't be naive, most clubs will say little Johnny would be better off going to the B team as he will get more playing time and will be the go-to guy, etc. It is just the ways it is and you better get used to it at an earlier age each year as these All-Star teams start cropping up all over the place.

If you read the posts, most people are not bashing the team, they are bashing the way it came to be. My prediction is that the ego behind the formation of the team will also destroy it if they go forward. One loss or tie is all it will take.

I love all the talk about the "Cudda players" and "Cudda parents". There is no Baracudda team. A bunch of players put together for one tournament is not a team. The result is impressive, but let's see if this All-Star team from different parts of Long Island stays together.

Hopefully someone can help me out on a few questions. My son 1999 birthday is looking to join a travel lax team . That being said lacrosse is not his whole life nor his only sport .He is a solid player who has always been one of the best if not best player on his average to above average town team.Any suggestions as to which teams do not have alot of commitment during the winter? Also which position do you generally feel gives him the best chance at making a higher level team?Thanks for any help.

I don't have a boy playing so can't help you there, but I can tell you that hardly anyone wants to play defense, so if you son can defend he will have a better shot making a team/getting playing time.

Why no tryout for the barracudas? Every club on the planet can be improved. The parents running this can't possibly make all the talent evaluations in a vacuum.

Interesting that both the Outlaws and Jesters are advertising tryouts for the 2016s yet the Express and Team 91 camps are completely silent. Expect that there will be movement this September for sure.

The 91 tryout dates are on their website for everyone to see. The Jesters 2016 teams are beyond bad. They can't play with decent 2016 team or even good 2017 teams. What good player would want to play for them?

Those tryouts are not for the turtles or baracudas. If there is someone they like in the regular tryouts they will discuss but that's it.

The Us lacrosse finals were a joke the only good teams were 3 li ones.

fl$ charges alot more than any of the local teams, yet their teams are not any better. Why are they charging so much more?
$1500 plus tournament fees, plus purchasing a helmet from them.
The coaching is not any better than anywhere else.
That is just gouging the kids for no reason. The kids they target are from the wealthier towns. I guess they figure they could afford it.

I hardly think fl$ "targets" kids from wealthier towns...everybody who tries out knows what the fees are upfront. If its too expensive then don't have your kid try out! I think the program's success in several differnt grades speaks for the validity of the fl$ tryout process - it works pretty well.

The 2016 Outlaws will be hard to beat. When at full strength there is no one stopping them. They shut out Team 91 A team 5-0 without their top Midfielder. They have the top faceoff man, top middie, and top goalie on the island.

Do not have a kid playing boys travel lacrosse but get over yourself with declaring you have the best 13 yearold middie etc.Hopefully usa lacrosse goes ahead with making set ages determined bt birth year and not grade in school so some of these parents who held their kids back in school will see how they stack up when playing at their true age level.

The only outlaw team that is any good is the 2014 black outlaw team. They are a solid bunch. Good luck with that 2016 outlaw stuff!

The Raiders won every faceoff, ran by the Outlaw middies all day and the outlaw goalie was average.

Does anyone ask their child if they are happy? Profit or not for profit is irrelevant, these are businesses putting out a product. The consumer has the choice.

People arguing about who the best U13 team is in Long Island. THIS is what is wrong with youth lacrosse.

They are 13 , NO ONE Should be bashing Kids or Organazations. No One(Kid or Team) is The Best at this age. My Son Plays with the Outlaws. When The express beat us for the 1st time in 5 trys , yea they played very good, when the raiders like some one said kicked the snot out of us, yea they did. WHO CARES , we were 26-6 this summer. all the teams Express 91 Outlaws raiders and Team LI are very Good. Give them all credit when they do well. The kids on these teams are special, and it will be great watching them all develop in the coming years. The Most IMPORTANT thing is they are From Long Island, and this is what makes us the Top spot for talent in the country. Its great lacrosse when all these teams play. Enjoy it and stop all the negative BS

There is an email going to 2016 players. the subject title is "Barracudas" or somthing like that. This email implies that there is some training related to a tryout for the Barracudas. this is not the case. this is another scam by the express to get some more $$$ out of people while the "Barracuda" team is a hot topic.

i wasn't sleeping, but the team definitely was. Do you also remember that the Raiders lost to Team 91, who were shut out by the Outlaws 5-0? My point is....they are all very good teams. Any one can beat the other on any given day......

Have not heard much discussion about team long island.Is this because they are not as strong a travel team as the others, or they just do not rub people the wrong way.

And you will get one, the Team long Island is very good at most age levels, I know they are very good at 2016, 2017, 2018. There older teams seem decent as well.

They are a nice organization though, and are always a good game.

Probably because Team Long Island does not advertise. It is non-profit. The teams are generally amongst the best in their age group. Excellent coaching (all volunteer) and cost much less than some of the others. The U-17 group this year was great!Won Laxfest, Lost in the finals at Trilax and semi's at Champ camp!

Does anyone have details on the True Blue Lacrosse program? (Saw that they were added to the Long Island Clubs listing on this site.) Their web site talks about a U13 team (2016?), but we do not know too much about them.

Word is they played out West and in Stowe VT (U13), Finals in both. Great coaches. Having a couple teams this year.

In Boys 2016, we were told at the tryouts that there would be an Express AA, A and B teams. It would make sense to make the Barracudas the AA team if they are the super stars they are made out to be.

With the politics every travel team seems to have, what is happening next?

If you actually check out the NYPPL site for the fall tournament, the Barracudas are still scheduled as a U/15 AA team.

130 kids at todays 91 2016 tryout. well organized with enough evaluators.

My son was one of the 130, the tryout was well organizec with alot of coaches doing exactly what they needed to do, evaluating the kids. This was the first tryout my son or me has ever attended. there was an awful lot of very good talent, any suggestions on a team and its parents that just want the kids to play at a better level than PAL without all the drama. I heard very good things about 91 but with that turnout I think looking elsewhere would be wise. Any suggestions are welcomed.

I suggest you call the directors of the programs listed on BOTC that still have tryouts available. Explain your son's experience level and find out if it is a fit.

Just a silly question is there truth to the rumor that Stony Brook University is going to be starting a youth travel team?

That seems highly unlikely. Colleges aren't in the business of youth sports.

BOTC is pleased to recognize the Long Island Outlaws Black 2016 team that won their 8th Grade brackets at this last weekend's Skull and Bones Tournament. While we did not cover this event with live updates, we very much wanted to recognize the franchise for a nice achievement.

Pretty impressive that the division had 13 teams,including Prime Time, Jesters, and Turtles and the two teams in the championship were both Outlaws teams (A and B).

Prime Time is a Westchester team which looked pretty good. Did either Outlaws team play the Turtles? Commack town team gave one of the Outlaws teams a run for their money.

I was there for the 8th grade division. Primetime and both outlaws were 3-0 so the championship went based on goals against. Primetime beat the Turtles(7th grade) 6-5 so they had more goals against than the Outlaws. Outlaws did not play the Turtles. Good Tournament, great fields and decent refs.

In the future they need a semifinal so teams can compete instead of getting bumped out based on goals against etc...

Primetime had two players that someone commented were 9th graders? I don't know that to be true but I do know that they were big and dominated the field.

Primetime should have been in the championship based on the talent.

Numbers 12 and 20 looked like they drove there themselves. Fields were awesome. Semifinal does need to be incorporated especially at the higher levels.

Semi would have worked. Better final would have been Outlaw Black vs Prime time, but thats what happens with 13 teams .

Whatever happened to the Long Island Blue Demons? They had a good squad a few years ago at U11, so I think it was a 2016 team. I haven't heard anything about them the past 2 years. Did that program disband?

Yes, they were a 2016 team and disbanded 2 years ago. Many of the kids are now playing for 91 and the express.

Thanks. It was a pretty good team. My son's U11 team beat them a few summers ago, and a dad said it was the only game they had lost all summer.

My son played for Blue Demons - great team, great coach, but it got to be too much for the dad/coach who ran it. Parents complaining about CSH boys getting playing time over more talented boys. They rarely lost a game in any case while playing up so not sure what the griping was about. It's too bad, coach was a great guy and all he wanted was the boys to learn, play hard, and have fun doing so.

The Blue Demons were ruined by parents. They were out of control.

As a parent of a kid on the team, I can attest that they were not ruined by "parents". They were ruined by a single parent who, I agree, was totally out of control. Anyone who has ever seen him in action knows exactly who he is. Coach was a great guy and the team was excellent.

Hi. I am the original poster who asked about the Blue Demons. Was your son on the team in 2009 when they were at Patriot Games? My son played for the U11 Rock team that beat them in that tournament. The Blue Demons were a good team and it was a great game.

Just curious why not get rid of the one bad parent instead of the whole team.

Our 2016 BLC Crabs (Baltimore) a few weeks ago played against the said "Baracuda" team. They were not registered as Baracuda's though Im certain thats who they were. Finally the U15 Crabs has some compettion outside of Baltimore. Crabs jumped out 8-0 LI came back to make the game close. Decent parents for a NY team. Look forward to seeing you folks in NPYLL

I wonder how NPYLL will work this out as all the teams in AA are in the Baltimore ,DC area. Is it expected LI comes to us every week? Cudas (?) were strong. Ended up a closer game then started out.

The Express-Crabs rivalry will be fun to watch over the next four years. Both teams are well coached and there's a lot of mutual respect. The players and parents on both teams are first class. Can't wait for the next time they meet. Happy Holidays to all.

the baracuddas were probably the best team in the country and then express "orange" is still probably the best because they are the best of the best at there age group.

The Express Orange 2016 team plays like a seasoned team and all the players are very respectful and consistently display good sportsmanship. They have participated in three major tournaments this fall winning two and losing one in the championship game to the Crabs. No team is perfect but this one is as close to perfect as I've seen at this level...A pleasure to watch!

1. The Barracuddas are no more - they are now basically the Orange 2016 team, which was pretty marginal last summer as originally constructed. Orange 2016 was nowhere near a dominant team last summer. Come on.

2. The Crabs were a very good, but not dominant team, last summer. They lost consistently to Looney's and clubs like VLC.

3. The new Crabs 2016 team is very good. But that is the pattern with the Crabs. When they field their U15 team, they have lots of guys who are repeating 8th grade before going to Baltimore private schools. So they have several kids who would otherwise be on 2015 teams.

I'm sure express orange will be a good team this year. They still have several kids from last summer's 'cuda team. How they will do against their main competition here on LI remains to be seen.

With the new USL guidelines, it may not be a big deal. But in the past, it was a big advantage for the Crabs. US Lacrosse used to advocate NOT having anyone in HS play U15, even if age eligible. That is why most good players only play 1 year of U15 ball - because they are going to make a HS varsity, JV or freshmen team during their 2nd year of U15 and thus do not play U15 anymore. But because many of the Crabs repeat 8th grade, they usually have a much older, mature team at the U15 level.

But with the new rules, it's hard to say what will transpire this summer.

Agreed. Its my opinon that as the gets better the parents tend to relax and enjoy themselves. We have as I'm sure LI does, many ex coaches who now just enjoy being parents. Enjoy the holiday.

I'm a parent of a U13 crabs player and now U15. The program guarntees no spots year to year and this U15 team was selected in the same manner. Only 6 players from U13 were moved up the others went to programs in the Balt area such as Green Turtle, Annapolis Hawks and Lax World. By selecting the teams fresh every yr certainly is hard for the boys and parents but accepted by all who respect the director for not "grandfathering players" yr to yr there fore loosing credibility. The coaching is outstanding and the expectations are high. As far as age goes they run it by the book I know first hand. Other programs in our area (Va based) pulled some fast ones last season in a couple tournaments as they had players from their U15 team come down and play against the U13 Crabs. I dont know if they were over age I would hate to think so. Crabs had 3-4 players playing U15 who were age appropriate for U13. If they came down and played in those tournaments it would have been ugly.

Thats true about the repeating of grades. We here that all the time. Our DOB's and grades all fit NPYLL standard. In fact last yr for Crabs at U13 we had 2-3 boys who were in sixth grade with birth yrs 1999. Only one that I know of made the U13 Crabs again this yr as the program will not just carry kids yr to yr.

Why do they repeat 8th grade?
Long Island kids who play at 2016 are 1998 birth year or late 1997.
Are the maryland and virginia kids who play 2016, 1997 and late 1996 birth year?

Repeating 8th grade (if thats the case and it happens at all)has allot to do with parents decisions whether they want their son in 9th grade and be only 14 yrs old. MYLA, NPYLL rules have nothing to do with grade at that age group unless the player is in 9th grade. If he is in 9th grade he can not play for his HS. It is about the age. You must be "under 15" August 31st of the upcoming yr. Our team does have a few 97"s but they have to be born Sept -Dec of 97. Crabs players are bigger I guess because of the program selection. Crabs tryouts attract quite a few boys from all over not just Baltimore and those who tryout are typcally the best or close to it on their Rec or club team. Ive seen many AA players not get thru the first cuts. Crabs only has one team per age group. Says allot about the people running it as they could make lots of money having lower teams. They do not have a U11.

You were told a lie. VLC beat the U13 Crabs twice last year, and some Crabs parents are convinced (or were told) that VLC used some U15 players. That is an absolute lie. Everyone who played on that VLC team was a U13 age player - nobody was overage. I know every one of those kids. All of them conformed to the U13 age requirements, and nobody was "pulled" down from either of VLC's two U15 teams. In fact, VLC's best player was a 12 year old 6th grader. I'm happy to talk about it offline if you wish. I can't say it any plainer - no "illegal" or overage players were used. None.

As you know, some Crabs parents said some pretty ugly things on the sideline. Unfortunately, these allegations are completely false and are groundless.

Lets be clear here. If a U-15 player plays U-13 he is not breaking the rules if he is eligible by age to play U-13 but happens to be good enough to play U-15 at other tournaments.

For example my boy Johnny was born on September 1st 1999. Based on age he is a U-13 player in 2012.

Most boys his age (Aug/Sep '99 births) are in 7th grade.
Knowing I want him to get a Lacrosse scholarship I red-shirted him as a Kindergartener. You would think he'd be in 6th grade, but as it turns out Johnny is not too bright and got left back a few years ago so he is only in 5th grade.

Fortunately, he really is a good Laxer. I always thought Ivy Leaguers were too stuffy. I am therefore not concerned with Johnny's academic problems (ACC Lacrosse is better anyhow and I hear those southern schools like Duke and UVA have very relaxed academic standards).

Even though he 2.5 years older than his teammates he plays on his 5th grade 2019 team and does really well.

When it comes to age based tournies he is good enough to play U-15, but aged for U-13. Even though he usually rosters w/ a U-15 squad is it wrong for him to roster at some tourneys as a U-13?

Assuming he does a PG year and red-shirts a year at UVA he will be 26 when he graduates. Thanks to lacrosse he will have given up only 4 years of earning potential to get his $5K per year partial scholarship. In 2012 however, I do not want him accused of cheating for occasionally playing U-13.

No, he is not cheating by playing in U13. However, you are cheating him by not getting him a tutor and spending more time in the books and less time worrying about his lax skills. The glory days of lacrosse end my friend and we all find ourselves playing in some Masters league and drinking beer around a cooler afterwards. The next day we go to work - some as Doctors,lawyers etc and some dig ditches. Education is where it is at.

I would request, however, that you remove your post (or edit it) concerning VLC having 5 boys disqualified before the finals against Looney's. That is 100% false, and I hate to see that written here as if it is the truth. I was with the team the entire day, and nobody (at this tournament or any other one) has even been held out for any reason. None.

The Looney's had an excellent team and we couldn't win a faceoff in the 1st half. We had our full complement of players. Period. I don't know where this vicious rumor got started, but it is hateful and completely false. Completely.

Age matters but the rules do favor maryland. We played the crabs in the fall. The format u15 no 9th graders birthdate 1996. Our express orange players are all 1997 the rules state you can be 1996 as a u15 player and in new [lacrosse] that is almost impossible. NY 1996 players are 9th graders. Listen the games at this age will be fun to watch. The crabs do have great players and great coaching. We want to see them more. I think the game at this level will only motivate the long island teams.

Not sure I follow, you might want to use comma's, I have a son born in 1996 and he is in 9th grader, and he is also elidgable for U15 (born after 8/31/1996) - probably about 10% of all current 9th graders were born in 1996, (Nov. and Dec. birth dates)and why would this help Maryland? if it is the same rules for everybody?

FYI. Most of the Crabs U15 players this season are 98 birth yr. We have 3-4 boys who are 97's. No 96's those boys are in the 2015 division. That Orange/Cuda team was outstanding. I think they were caught off guard with the way Crabs pushes offensivly and makes those 3rd and 4th passes to goal. One thing we noticed with the LI team was how quickly they made the first slide way up high. Left the attack open and with the ability Crabs has to pass, it cost them. LI's offense once they got untracked was fantastic to watch. Catch and shoot right away. Do you have a son on that team? I see youre in NPYLL. Have youre coaches discussed how the travel would work out?

Yes i have a son on the team. We are willing to travel for good competition. We wanted to see you guys in philly but you guys were short 2 of your best players. This year will be fun you have not seen our whole team either. You guys were fast and our coach changed it up at half time to teach our kids a lesson. He told them you guys would be the best we see and now use our speed. The kids made it close and want another shot. I have whatched alot of lacrosse over the years this match up may be the best I ever seen

Not true with regard to Crabs having U15 players who should be 2015. I know first hand as you can by looking at their roster on line, most of the Crabs u15 players are 98's with a few 4-5 97's.

when we played you in the fall there were no 9th graders allowed in the u15 division. Most eigth graders in ny are late 97 and 98. To have jan 1997 in eigth grade in ny is not heard of. I agree u15 does allow sept 1 1996 dates but we played a tournament in which that was not possible. I do not know if it happens there all the time. Good teams only get better playing better compitition.

Thats news to me about not having 2 of our best players? Where did you here that? We ended up practicing and were short one of our defenders who is a monster 13yr old 6-2 but we were covered. when we played you guys in DC we were short one kid. Our roster is light carrying 21 players. Crazy thing we have one player from NJ who drives down with his mother for every practice and a Mass boy who flies in.Both came to practice at BL (our home field in Balt) Both have parents who are from Balt and have granparents here.So as far as you know you folks will be doing all the travel? Doesnt seem fair as a couple teams are from Southern MD and Mad Lax from DC/Va.

We were in philly and beat every team. We were disapointed. It had to come from your side and our coach relayed it through a couple parents your coach called him and said you would not attend without these 2 kids. Maybe they could practice but not spend the whole day. Listen win or lose thats the lacrosse that is fun to watch. We were 2 short with our faceoff kid out when we played you guys. Ask the looneys he is a game changer good luck I am sure we will see each other often Happy Holidays

2016 Express Orange are all 1998 except for a few late 97's, if those are same age as Crab players they are perfectly matched. First game was great to watch, looking forward to many more.

Yes thats the ages of the Crabs U15 boys. This will be fun and good for both teams. By the way, Looneys is the name of the other team here in Balt. Not "the " Looneys. Many people make that mistake. Looneys is a pub in Fells Point (Batlt. city) whic sponsers them. Happy holidays to you and yours

Express Orange 8th grade team won the Winter National tournament earlier today. They beat Dukes by a goal in championship game. Dukes beat Express in pool play. Seems like a good rivalry brewing there.

Were the Crabs at that indoor tournament?

No they do not seem to show up to very many events

After watching the express vs dukes game it would be nice to see the dukes, express, crab and looney rivalry develop this year. Express has played both the crabs and dukes and both are incredible teams. Looneys played express well over the summer. Not to over look other teams but the outlaws who I respect and have a good team and are well coached came in fourth last week. There are way to many 10 goal plus wins at this level. Hopefully pictures on the web site come second and the brackets get picked to better competition not to watch blow outs week in and week out

Express Orange and Dukes 8th grade teams have played eachother three times this fall and every game has been a nail biter. The players from both teams have benefitted greatly from playing in these evenly-matched high caliber lacrosse games. What makes these events even more enjoyable is the first class coaching and parents on both sides. Can't wait for the next time these two teams meet.

I agree with the previous poster that Express, Dukes, Crabs and Looneys should play eachother as much as possible.

Lots of players on the full summer squads are not in uniform in the fall due to other commitments such as football or basketball. Lets see what the summer brings...

The level of play at this age has changed greatly. Any teams that are not playing or practicing all year long are at a disadvantage. There is no team on the island who will wake up one day and be able to play with the dukes, crabs and looneys. The express play and practice every week. They are small compared to the other three teams. There is no teams on the island that will dominate these teams including the express.

Very few if any kids at this age have eliminated all other sports to just focus on lax year round. If they have, I think its a mistake. I'm sure in Maryland the crabs and looney kids also play other sports in the winter. Its only the lax club program directors that would endorse dropping all other sports so they can continue to collect more fees for meaningless off-season tournaments, clinics etc. Lets see what happens when basketball, wrestling etc.. is over.

Crabs just posted their winter practice schedule for U15 and U13. Every Sunday from now untill NPYLL begins. Crabs director does specify winter sports come first though based on my expierence, Crabs boys are lacrosse players 1st and will all attend foregoing their winter sports. Crabs does not charge addtional fees for practices or tournaments in the fall or winter.

The committment level to play for the Express this fall has not been so onerous that you can't play other sports. Most of the kids on the team are playing football, basketball and/or hockey. The Express coach is very understanding that kids play other sports in the fall. There are usually a handful of kids missing a practice or game as a result of their committments to other sports. Despite all the success achieved by this team, they have yet to field their full squad for any competition this fall.

Looks like a nice team but lets see how the summer plays out.

Outlaws were missing 11 of their regulars so the team's performance was not truly indicative of how good the team really is.

Interesting comment, Express beat looneys twice in the same week end at Madlax Summer tour finale. Shock to the Looneys. The Express have beaten the Dukes 2 out of 3 times this fall. The express lost the only time they played the Crabs. Are you sure that no LI team will dominate the three? Looks like the domination has already started. Wake up....

Easy big fella...take a deep breath...its only 8th grade...lets stay away from terms like "domination" and resist crowning any 8th grade team world champs just yet. Long way to go. The only thing for sure is that every team will have 50% turnover over the next two years and everything will look different from where we are now. Be humble, pray for no injuries and just enjoy the journey.

I am an express parent too. My point was these teams that think, come spring they can wake up one morning and compete with the better teams is not the case. Yes we have dominated individual events but if they played all these teams at one event I do not see one team going undefeated. I know the looneys reloaded this year and do not forget this is U-15 there will be older teams. With the exception of this team no long island team has dominated the "Maryland, DC," teams in a long time. These other teams will be ready to play this year. We should enjoy this year The lacrosse should be great. But other programs that have not competed at this level have no idea how good these teams are

Watch out for the Crabs this yr. Their U13 was very good last yr won NPYLL against a solid MAD LAX all star team and most tournaments they entered. Did loose a tight game to Looneys and to Green Turtle once at the end of the summer season using U11 goalies. Crabs only kept 6 players from that team for U15. The program is known to have "real " tryouts, so untill HS Sophmore its season to season and even that team is known to cut boys from previous yrs. So far in the fall(U15) they have beaten Looneys, Mad Lax (not too good not sure why)GT twice, and LI Orange/Cudas. All games in a dominate fashion. Another solid team down this way which does not get noticed is the Annapolis Hawks.

Hang on there guy. They did not dominate the express you jumped out big in the first half and express dominated the second half. You were suppose to show up at the dukes tournament and were missing two players so you did not come. You have not played express at full strength. Only reason you dominated the first half was faceoffs. Our faceoff guy could not make it against you. Don't beat your chest so soon. We will see you March 30th. So far all the parents from the crabs and dukes are great people and respect good lacrosse win or lose. Please don't be the idiot on the sidelines

I have given the crabs and all teams the upmost respect. One thing express has is great parents and kids. I go to every game and the parents and kids are always respectful to everyone. I guarentee that most of your boys are not nearly as intense about the "domination" of their summer club team as you are. All they want to do at this age is have fun playing with their friends. Three years from now none of what is happening today will every be remembered or at least certainly won't matter. Trust me, my oldest son is a freshman in college now (yes, he is playing varsity lax at highly ranked DIII school) and I can't remember (nor does he care right now) what happened in 8th grade. crabs will have a much better season overall, they get to play better competition all the time, mad lax, looney's, green turtle, etc they are actually doing the express a favor. if they learned anything from chanabuck they would start charging for the priviledge of playing them.

there is a reason no major tournaments happen on WRONG ISLAND. You cant get on or off that place all summer long. takes you guys 8 hrs to drive 400 miles to MD. I, for one would never play in a tournament on that dump of an island.

Pack some more houses on 1/4 acre lots with 14k taxes and keep your paradise. Your idea of a park is one or two lax fields next to some junk yard or industrial park with a bunch of locals playing "futobol".

I do agree about it being hard to get to Long Island for a tourney. But according to coach/computer rankings at the end of last year, 7 of the top 25 boys H.S. teams came from L.I. . and 11 from N.Y. in total. only 5 from MD. and from the girls side 11 from MD. to 5 for L.I.. So , unless your a girl ,I would shut up Maryland boys lax is not that good. But if you keep changing the rules , not allowing us to check ,because you MD. players don't like to be hit. someday you'll catch up

Please refrain from making disparaging remarks about eachother's hometowns. We all live in the same country and we should be proud of that. Furthermore, a few should not taint the mutual respect and admiration displayed by the majority of the Long Island and Maryland parents as witnessed at the recent Crabs vs. Express game down in DC. Let's be thankful that our children have the God-given ability and health to compete against eachother. Let's stop throwing stones and use this energy to promote more events where these great teams can play eachother.

Looney's, turtles, crabs. Doesn't Maryland have any tough types of names. When we from LI come down and play we refer to the teams as the "Teddy bears". They look nice but are very "squishy". Similar to cooked crab and turtle. We prefer lobster with our brewski. Lobster eat crab.

Like the "Fly" refrence. I dont know what kind of crabs they serve in NY but skwishy?? Yuck.

Guys give them ther due maryland does have good teams to play. The differance is they concentrate on one ELITE team where if we did that on the island everyone is up in arms. Learn from MD the gifted kids should play together and the kids who work hard and want to play up have a goal to shoot at. There is no team on the island with the exception of the express who can play with the crabs. The express also will have a hard time with them. Lacrosse on the island is a money making buisness and there are too many teams competeing at AA. If we combined teams and had better AA teams on the island and concentrate on better competition for everyone else to raise there skills it would be a win win. Just a thought

please take note, there are plenty of good ole boys from Maryland on the Maryland lacrosse teams. Because it is a great place to live and learn, they stay local.

Look at the rosters from Hofstra and Stony Brook. You have to rely on kids from CT,NJ,MA and Canada, etc. You almost never get a blue chip player to stay on Wrong Island, why do you think that is?

Just saying.......................but I will admit Wrong Island does rule D2 and D3 lax, you know where phyical play is considered more important than moving the ball. footballax

Totaly agree with this statement.... Although my son is a 2019, I feel that the elite teams need to consistently look to play each other, whether in tournaments or leagues.... I've said on another post that I respect the express for joining NYPLL. This is the type of league that needs to be brought to the Island. My thoughts would be, NYPLL is equivalent to the NCAA. The Maryland teams would be in the "ACC" conference. Long Island teams would be considered the "Big East". Upstate New [lacrosse] and Western Mass teams would be the "NEC". You would have to play at a consistent level in order to stay in the league. This would be a win/win for both the organizations and the more dedicated players. We can learn from Maryland which is why the 2019 Dune Dawgs are playing in two tournaments in Maryland this upcoming summer...... Only looking to play the best!!!!

I have to disagree with this The only reason why L.I. schools do not dominate N.C.A.A. lax is because the kids here choose to leave to go to the better schools. If you look at the rosters from Prinston , Brown Cornell MIT etc.. they are littered with kids from L.I. These are kids that don't go to prep schools like MD. lax. they are mostly from public schools with good enough grades to go to Ivy and top ties schools. It shows that they are smart enough to look beyond the game, and get the education. No offense to the MD. schools , but I'd rather my kid at Harvard then Maryland, even if she never wins a DI title. And lastly , the top players from both mens and womans lax came from L.I. Shannon Smith, and Nicky Galasso.

Seen Crabs and Express and they are comparable. Express strengths are defense and midfield. Crabs seem strong and balance at every position and probably have a better attack than Express. But overall pretty even. High quality lax and fun to watch if you get a chance.

Don't kid yourself, you'll end up playing another LI team in the finals. There are only a handfull of competitive teams you will encounter at the young ages and there not in md. Until you play u-13 your just kidding yourself with all the self hype, that's when crabs, dukes, clams start to care.

Nick is at UNC not Hofstra and Shannon is at Northwestern, which last I checked are not on wrong island.

Yes for good schools they didn't stay on L.I. just because they were from L.I. Unlike kids from Md. that don't want to leave MD. they went to schools for a degree in a particular field , at the school that they thought were best in that field . your saying that kids from MD. go to schools in MD. because the school is in MD. I'm sure if they wanted to be lawyers they would go to Hofstra , or a doctor they would go to Stony Brook, But there the only big DI lacrosse schools on L.I. . and by the way I looked at the rosters for the big MD. schools , and both men and woman pull kids from a lot of states not just MD. and an average of 5 kids from L.I. per team , so it sounds like your schools have to come here for there talent. You should really doom research before you start posting ridiculous statements

I dont know what you are refering to. Long Island U-15 do not compare to maryland. This is a 2016 which is U-15. The express has played both the crabs and the dukes at U-15 level. They are great teams. Lets see 91, outlaws, fl$,and the riptide compete in the NYPLL with the express. MD goes after a team of great players. On long Island a team gets a handful of good players starts a team and takes your money. Look at the express they now are stacked with great players and everyone cryed that they did something wrong.

Not kidding myself... No self hype, just trying to challenge the kids at an early age. If the crabs, dukes, loonies, are not serious until U-13, where are are they going to pick the kids from? Kids that are currently playing U-11. Another thing, intentionally looked for tournaments where LI have teams have not really played in the past. This goes back to the CageSage reference discussing what you should be looking for in team(organization) selection. If you are paying money to play on a travel team, you should make sure that your organization selects the most appropriate tournaments for your team. One of the tourneys we are registered to play will have teams from Central NY, Texas, Illinois, North Carolina, Virgina, as well as the Maryland teams....

But this is a 2016 forum who cares about U11 here. The express will not bring all there teams in this league. Mike C coaches both the 2018 and 2016 teams they will be the ones to play in that league

Don't worry, I believe Team 91 is scheduled to play in the Summer Finale this year. They should also be at TrState. Last year, Looney's and Madlax were there as well. A little head to head competition should answer your questions.

Is Express looking to play the best or are they avoiding the best on LI?

The express is again finding ways to give the kids the best chances to be and play the best. 91 has played no fall tournaments and have no idea how good the maryland teams are. Mad lax is not what it was and the looneys can play. Is tri state where you want to lay your hat. Why not go to the fl$ tourn and take on the crabs that would be a site. Until you come out of the closet and play a game go back to your 91 forum where none of your teamates and parents get along

You seem a little sensitive about this subject. The LI teams will play the Express during the summer season at some point. Then, we will be able to see what's what. Until then, it's all just speculation on everyone's part. I just find it interesting that Express has decided to take this team on the road and not play on LI. I would love to know where you guys are playing so I could see for myself.

Also, there are more non-91 people on the 91 forum than actual 91 parents and players. Over time, most of them have revealed their true identities.

BTW, some kids play other sports in the fall and winter.

The express will play on the island. This league is during the spring. The summer schedule will include some games on long island. Go to the nypll website and look at the schedule and you will find all of the information. The express players have the same fall and winter sports as does all other teams. The differance is they are all determined kids who want to play all year. We had 4 players from 91 on our team last year who are missed and are friends with the parents and players of this team. Knowing those familys I am sure they are just as commited to playing as this team is. I am hoping to see them return to the express

Has your coach explained to you how the travel will play out. As you know, as it stands now, all of the teams are either in Baltimore, the Eastern shore Md., or Metro D.C. (Va)?

It sounded like we will go down there and have 2 or three games in one or 2 days I think they are waiting to see if the dukes commit to have philly as a central area

Express Orange 2016 will crush Crabs, Looneys, Dukes and anybody else who challenges them this summer and be known as the best 2016 team in the country since there is no real competition in the grade on the Island. Is there anybody that can challenge them?

This is definately not a person from the Cudas, just another one trying to stir the pot. It will be a very competetive summer for the boys. Anyone who saw the Dukes or the Crabs play the Cudas know that it will be a highly competitive summer with 91 sure to get in the game. So that being said any BS being posted about the Cudas and how great they are is outsiders attemting to stir the pot. It is by and large a nice group of boys who have friends on a lot of teams on LI. Most off, they are all polite and have a great love for Lax and a strong bond.

Our Young Guns (U13 and U15 BLC Crabs) tournament teams have been posted on our website. I see a couple LI teams coming to Baltimore. Should be very competeive.

I agree! My son is a different age group than the Express 2016 Orange (Cudas) but he is friends with several of the players trough clinic & mutual friends. All those Cuda kids are very humble & nice young men! Excellent lax players with a great attitude!

Is express orange 2016 the same as the Cudas? My son has played with and against several of the players from 2016 orange and cuda team, who are fine young men. They will have their hands full when they come to Maryland. should be some great games if they go up against the Hawks and Crabs. My experience is that all the teams have very talented players that go hard. It's Game time!!! Good luck to all.

Why did they pull out of the NPYLL then?

Most of the Express Orange 2016 team was on the 'Cuda team but not all. Saw them play this past weekend against strong Laxachusetts and Leading Edge teams. Express won both games handily.

It would be geographically insane to travel there (DC MD area) every week. I am sure these teams will meet again and they are all great quality kids.
I am also sure some troll will attempt to stir the BS.

There was an attempt this season to build a northern bracket for the NPYLL - a New [lacrosse]/New Jersey/Pennsylvania grouping. Unfortunately, that did not come together for Spring 2012. However, you should expect to see that this will be tried again with a little more time and planning for next season.

I hope this does happen. I will say it needs to be done by an independent group. As you can see in the tournaments so far, express will not support 91 tournaments, and 91 will not support the express. It clearly shows that this lacrosse stuff is really about the money and not the kids.....

I must dis agree with you. Express has been ventureing out playing in philly, Maryland this week hosted 3 teams from 3 different states. With the exception of 91 express has played these teams. No need to play the same teams over and over. Look at the schedules express will be going where no other teams from here will be.The day 91 can draw laxachusets, leading edge, titans, crabs, dukes, looneys and countless others shows how strong the program is. 91 can not draw any of these teams why would express participate or better yet why would they let 91 ride their coat tails. 91 needs express to draw good teams. Express is about playing the best teams out there they should not support 91. Both laxachusets and the leading edge would have won the shamrock shootout express played them on sunday what type of compition did 91 have at their tournament

They are scheduled to meet at the end of the summer. Let the boys play and have fun without the BS. Sounds to me like you drank too much of the Express flavored koolaid. But then again, you have no choice after what happened last summer. Do you really think you are being scheduled against the best teams or teams you can beat to stroke your ego and justify your choice. The Express will not risk the embarrassmetn of having the team go else where if they can not satisfy the parents insatiable egos

My 2 sons now play in D1 Lax (Freshman & Senior) and they have never played w/ club teams.

My kids attended a couple of Showcases(MD/NJ/&College Camps) during their Soph/Jun yrs(as a single player) and that's when they got recognized by many College coaches.

So, just a little advise from someone who has been there before. Make sure your kid(s) work hard & have good grades first. Good Luck Everyone!

Kings point has all star Team Playing Baltimore crabs sun at 10am. Does any one know where there from or who kids are.(kings point allstars)??

I believe the Kings Point All-Star team was selected by inviting the top players from each of the participating teams in the Merchant Marine Academy league.

Crabs boys did well up in LI this past weekend. We played a Conn team of men (pun), and won by 5-6 goals, then played the skilled "orange" Express team. Very good game won by Crabs by a few. Parents from LI are allot of fun. Look forward to another meeting. Sunday Crabs played the select team from the USMMA leauge and unfortunatly it was not much of a match. The LI boys were skilled but I think putting together a team last minute can be dufficult when playing a team like the Crabs who have been together since Sept.

Sunday game was 10-3 at half, and final 15-7. Not bad with No Practice. Crabs offense was outstanding, and they were just bigger and quicker. Must of had over 35 shots, and picked up 8 out of 10 ground Balls. still a good showing by Li kids

Express got off to a slow start but really picked it up in the 2nd half. Almost a replay of their encounter in the fall. Crabs clearly the best team in this age group with Express a close second. Wish the logistics were different and they could play on a regular basis.

Hard to rank the teams until the summer when the better teams start to face each other.

Wonder how long it will take for someone to start preparing for next summer's team. Might even be in the works already.

Not hard to rank the top teams in this age category. Crabs, Express, Dukes, Loonies, Laxachusetts, Leading Edge have been playing together all year and will have a jump on the other summer teams. These programs don't seem to have a problem having their best players commit all year.

Dont forget the Annapolis Hawks. I think this team by the end of Spring will be very hard to beat. They practice 2-3 times per week since March 1, scrimmage most weekends. Crabs will have their hands full. Another strong "Summer only " team in this area is the Green Turtle. Somehow they attract top players in the Baltimore area, do nothing with them all Spring, then they are right up there with Crabs. Rock is still emerging.

There's a few teams on LI as well that may draw some interest as well. Once the summer tournaments start, we'll have a better picture. Some of the unmentioned LI teams have been practicing since the winter and playing indoor games together.

This post is so uninformed it's not even funny. There are tons of teams you omitted from this list who will be very formidable this summer.

Now if we could only get them all in the same region so they could play more often. We loved the Crabs game as they are super talented kids. If Green turtle or Hawks are in that category we hope to play them Too!!! If we meet in the middle like southern Jersey or Philly area and do a round robbin with the Dukes that would be the best!!!!!!! Hopefully these kids will bond become friends and remember each other into college.

Agreed. No kid is "safe" on these club teams - even kids whos parents seem to be on the inside circle. Seen a lot of excellent players be "uninvited" to these teams when the new toy comes along or a kid doesn't go to the "right" school. Never get too comfortable.

We shall see soon enough. At the forsberg tournament we will all see the local teams compete. Should be a great way to start off the summer

By safe do you mean doesn't make it if a better kid comes along? I believe thats why they have tryouts, isn't it? I believe all the major clubs have very different rosters from last year, as will next year. The idea is growth so that all the best players play on each clubs best team. When people hear about a great team the best kids SOMETIMES gravitate to it. Right wrong or indifferent this is life in most organized sports.

When you say Cudas, do you mean Express Orange? The reason I ask is that the Cudas played one tournament last year, and it was made up of boys from a bunch of kids from different clubs.

Looks like Forsberge will be the first chance we get to play the Major programs on LI.. Crabs look pretty good this yr 2016. The entire roster. They only carry 20-21 field players and all look good. Played LI Orange , Conn HS team and USMMA select group and looked very strong last weekend.

After watching them play I believe they are the best 2016 team around. The skills of these kids were incredible and the coaching was right on. I believe they commit to Lax year round and it shows. They have a coach who acknowledged all the opposing players strengths and rode his players hard, can't wait to see them again on the field.

Lets just say some parents where influential putting that team togther

We consider the best teams to be the ones who will give us the best game. It is way to early to say which programs that will be this year but it looks like Forsberge will be the first that the major clubs face each other.

You can guess all you want but until they face each other it's all BS. By AUG 1st a best of 2016 should be known.

Have the Express played any of the other LI teams yet? I guess they may have an oppurtunity to play the Outlaws at Forsberg depending upon the schedule. Looks like they'll have to wait until TriState or Madlax to face 91. It's hard to see where the Express will be based on their website. You can only tell the away tournaments they're attending based on the hotel listings. Looks like some good lacrosse this year at this age group.

Not all the kids only a hand full, like who's daddy arranged for some real talented players to make a move to the express from another team, It will all catch up to them in the next year or two tops, when they get to high school

That's if they decide to stay together for that long. Very difficult to keep teams together in this day and age. There is always parents who are not happy with playing time, coaches, etc who look to make a move.

Live in your fantasy world if it makes you feel better about what happened. The move was being planned during the season or how else did the Barracudas play one week after the last scheduled summer tournament? How long did it take to register for the Madlax tournaments and get uniforms made, etc. I'm sure another move will be in the works soon enough.

Sad thing about Looneys is that they have alot of talent on the 2016 team but for reasons not known openly, they are not playing NPYLL. Green Turtle does nothing inthe Spring and they also would make this leauge more competitive for Crabs. Hawks and maybe Mad Lax and Next Level may be pretty good. Shame LI Express couldnt make it work.

I heard the "parents" are getting together to ask a parent to coach a game after the summer ends of dodgeball but keep it quiet because the season isn't over and there is a lot of crying to do--uh I mean planning. The best kids from Express- 91 -Crabs- fl$-Team LI, raiders and Titans, will meet at a secret location (Cold Stone ) to discuss which uniforms to wear to the game. We are getting them really fast!! A dad on the inside has a friend who will design them and deliver them made out of astronut material in 3 days. Nobody on any travel team will pass on talent. The hate mongering peeps stated there were 4 more players. They were Attempting to do nothing more than harass the team in question. That being said it is sad for the people still hung up on the Cudas to keep coming on here trying to stir things. Move on have a great summer, scream in joy when your team wins and ur kids have fun! Push them to excel at everything and be a role model. Dont be a jerk because ur kid didn't get asked or your feelings were hurt. If you think someone shouldn't have made the team during tryouts, better for you, now maybe your team will beat the Cudas because they have in your mind a kid who "shouldn't" be there. The one mistake with your reply is that this team was not put together to lose. Losing is not acceptable! Anyone telling you it's all about the kids and making the kids better players are blowing smoke. There is a small group of parents controling the team behind the scenes who think their kids are the best and will do anything to get them on what they feel is the best team. They may let you think you are part of the circle but you are not. You are only being used until they no longer think your kid is worthy of playing with theirs unless you make a big donation to the catholic HS of your choice. Come back here in 6 months to let me know what happened during the summer. I'm sure the story will be much different. Just think, how many different teams have these people been with over the last few years? They will not stop with yours.

Well played game. MAD LAX dealt with Crabs initial rush of 4-5 early goals and kept the game quite close untill the 4th quarter when Crabs pulled away and won 13-7.

Worried about stacking up losses....Coaches have tried to set up numerous games with the Crabs and other strong teams (sorry not 91..get over it). This team wants to play the best!

I don't think a team that has played the Crabs 2X, Looneys 2x, Dukes 3x Laxachusetts, Leading Edge, Tri-State, Team LI, Outlaws and Greenwich is ducking anyone. Oh, and by the way it's not even summer yet. These coaches can't fill the schedule with enough top teams.

What do they have to get over? Somebody listed the Outlaws as a top LI team yet 91 beat them at the shamrock shootout. So where does that put 91? If and when they meet on the field, I'm sure 91 will be ready. I saw them play at the shamrock and they are much improved over last year.

There is one reason that express will not play 91 in the spring...to put it simply, 91 is the one team they can not afford to lose to. If they lose to 91 all of last year's planning, scheming, and back door deals will be exposed for what they really were. I don't think 91 has anything to prove, express is the one hearing the foot steps and trying to validate themselves.

So...True Blue, Dune Dawgs, 91, Team LI, and others all play its a scrimmage? Oh, that must be because the express wasnt there. As long as the express avoids local competition in an attempt to not be seen losing to other long island clubs, thus making kids want to play on those other clubs, all of the non express players will be stuck playing in the local based scrimmage scene. I dont understand the express mentality of still thinking that they are still the be all and end all of Long Island lacrosse..still a strong club, but its ok to not dominate anymore. At least you can enjoy the older grades where any kid that wants to go to St A's or Chaminade are strong armed into playing express club ball if they want to attend those schools. Go Crabs, please. Same garbage from you MD people and your loose U-XX team age cut off's. You take your u11 u13 u15 and u17 teams, which all have kids that are 12, 14, 16 and 18 years of age and play them down against our 2019, 2018, 2016 and 2014 teams. Or better yet, have your U18 team loaded with 13th graders and 19 year olds play our 2013's. You people have been doing this for years. Its the only way you can compete. Just garbage. Same with New England teams. A couple of years ago, Nesel played my sons rising eigth grade team with a U17 team at the Crimson tourny. God as my judge, one the kids got in his car and drove away after the game!! We played them to a 0-0 tie at the half. They won the game and were going nuts that they beat a LI team. The parents were also going nuts, until we told them our kids are going into 9th grade!! Many of them were still 13! So crabs, have your 16 and 17 year old U-15s play Nesels!!!

Stole a couple of kids fromthe Crabs when they were up here? So are you cutting kids from the team to make room or just adding to and letting some kids stand on the sidelines watching? Either way, classy move by the Express. To top it off, I sure they waited until everyone had paid in full for the year and guess what...no refunds.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Its all about the money, these lacrosse coach's can't find a real job so they take advantage of parents that know nothing about sports, most of the kids on these travel teams are not athletes, there parents just don't know it,they can't understand why there son isn't on the best team, win win win win $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ thats the game get use to it or get your kid out.

I've found that most of the parents on the top level teams are VERY knowledgeable about the game.

Parents know less then the coach's,thats how they get over, Explayers that have been successfull $$$$$$$$$ in other areas of life know the game, like it or not.

Summer travel lacrosse is NOT all about playing on the top super select team for most kids. Only some kids can play at that level. If you take a look at the top teams in any grade from each of the top four or five clubs, your only looking at maybe 100 plus kids. That's a very small percentage of the overall number of kids that play lacrosse in that grade across all of Long Island. Has got to be less than 2 or 3 percent of all the kids. Meaning that all those other kids need a place to play summer lacrosse. If they want to try and get better and play with the other 2 or 3 percent, they have got to play summer somewhere. These B and C teams that everyone likes to call "money makers" are where all the other 97+ percent of the kids play. Let me inform you, these kids play just as hard as the A team kids and work their tails off. They love the sport just as much as everyone else. By the way, from my experience many of these kids will be starting right along side of the other kids on many of your town middle school, JV and Varsity teams. Why? Because they played summer ball, worked hard and earned a spot. All summer ball should be about is getting better, before 9th grade. After that it matters for recruiting.

Hard to imagine the 2016 Express Orange would have a game set up to play down against the 2017 Turtles (Express) unless the 2017 Turtles insisted on it. I don't have a horse here but could this be confused with the Green Turtles, which is a 2016 team? If anything, if they really want to test themselves "within the Express family" the 2016 Express Orange should insist on playing up against the 2015 Express Orange. I think it would be a competitive game and maybe not something the 2015 folks would want to see?

First, learn the facts. 1. The Cuda's scrimmaged WITH the Turtles prior to Dicks TOC. There was no score, there were no refs. 2. There was from what I heard an unfortunate situation with a parents health on the Cuda's side. 3. The 2016 Cuda's are very good and the 2017 Turtles are very good. Both probably untouchable by any other LI team in their age group.

Sad to hear about the LI parent. When we (Crabs) came up to UMMA last month and played the 2016 Express the parents were very kind and complimentary. The Crabs boys unanimously felt that the Express is (and for the second time) one of the top teams they have and will play. Thanks for the clarification about the 2017/ 2016 scrimmage.

I don't understand why two teams can't scrimmage each other to work on certain parts of the game under game conditions without people keeping score. Does it really matter if they were a year older/younger? If both teams are getting something out of the scrimmage isn't that what really matters here? If you want top keep track of wins/losses, wait until the tournaments start and the teams start playing for something. In the end, we are talking about 13 and 14 y.o. boys. Let them have some fun for a while and play because they enjoy it and are learning, not because the parents have to win.

no 2015 teams are playing yet, these boys are in HS and are playing for their JV and Varsity's, when EXP orange 2015 and 2016 do scrimmage it will be 40 - 50 of the best laxers on long island

2015 would smoke 2016 - huge difference in talent at every position. Trust me on this. This would only benefit 2016 so not worth it for 2015 to bother. 2015 Orange should only play up vs 2014 Orange or Blue.

It seems as if, going with the majority's logic here - one's team should never play down, only play up. If that is the case, these games would never take place as there would never be anyone older agreeing to play the younger team.
When there is an dominant team in an age bracket, they want to test their skills by playing up. Is the older team doing the younger team a "solid" by playing them - yes, of course. There is no benefit to the older team if they win - "Well they should win they are older" or if G forbid they lose "Maybe they aren't that good after all." These games are just games - there's no t-shirt for the winners, no pic on the website. It is all preparation for the coming tournament season. And as the games in question are within the Express dysfunctional "family", in the end would seem good for the entire program. Good for the Cudas for playing the Turtles and vice versa. BTW - they scrimmaged this past weekend. Who cares what players were there or weren't there - on that day in that game, the score was 6-4 Cudas.

Could not agree more. The problem is these teams should work with each other but ego's get in the way. The turtles are a fun team to watch. Their skills are amazing there goalies are great and their speed is fun to watch. With the exception of a hanful of teams express orange has played turtles move the ball better than most. Turtles go up 4 to 0 there was no panic from Mike C He changed the game to press the ball slide 2 close the back door turtles don't score again. Both teams can learn from each other instead of the need to win. The turtles coach taunting the crowd only motivated orange and it was the worst display of sportsmanship imaginable. I saw him in action last year. The turtles lost an OBLL game and the coach gave the kids a verbal beat down complete with language that would make a sailor blush. He had half the team in tears by the time he was done. I don't care how good of a coach he is or how many tournaments the kids win...is this really who would you'd want coaching you kid? If the parents were more interested in their kids than winning lacrosse games, someone would have returned the favor and pulled their kid from the team. These aren't college kids, they're 12 yo after all.

Agreed - wasn't the Turtle coach's finest moment. And yes they are only 12 yr old but 12 yrs old is old enough to know for themselves that that behavior is unacceptable. It is not just about the winning. It is about a group of boys - could apply to any team - that work together and do it well, despite at times, the coaching and the over zealous parents.

How come something negative is said about express it has to be coming from a 91 parent? Sounds to me like the guy knows something that only an express parent would know or want to complain about.

This year the "after season" team will be called the piranhas and the current orange will turn into zebras. You know what happens to zebras when they get in the water with piranhas. Current orange parents, check your boys for the suddent appearance of white and black stripes after every game that they drop a ball or force a bad pass.

The parents were seduced by the idea of being the next "turtles". Unfortunately, something happened during the tournament they went to last summer and several of the boys/parents decided it wasn't for them. They also decided to use the name barracudas. If they did their homework, they would of easily found out that there is a Florida team that already goes by that name.

I've heard lots of stuff about how this team formed and none of it sounds very good. Big egos driving the whole thing.

I say there needs to be a north vs the south tournament. Long island can poach all the best kids from all the north teams to make a all-star team maybe then they can compete with the hold back "8th graders" from Baltimore teams.

This Crabs 2016 team did not even form until last Fall, so I do not see how VLC beat them last summer, before they were even formed. I believe their only loss is to Club Blue. By the way, I understand that many of the Club Blue guys play on that Greene Turtle U-15AA team in the summer because Club Blue does not play in the summer and Greene Turtle does not play in the Spring. Crabs have another tough game this weekend against another undefeated and very solid Next Level team. I think the Crabs will bounce right back, though. Good luck to all.

Stop with the Maryland teams already. We all know the age game you play down there... Besides, on LI we have so many more travel clubs, 25 plus in each age group. Further, some of the best players from some of the best town teams in the country are not permitted by their school teams to play on summer travel teams outside the town! The point being, LI travel teams are diluted. A few super players on each team surrounded by some very good players. You Maryland guys always yapping.... You've got 4 or 5 really good teams loaded with kids playing down. Same garbage going on for the last 5 or 6 years.... Stop already!

Regardless at what moronic crap is posted here, the crabs are an excellent team and play a flawless game. Club Blue must be an outstanding group of kids to have defeated them. It would be nice to see a round robbin of the highly rated 2 MD teams and 2 from Philly and 2 from LI to compete for a few days in a real round robbin where you get a shot at each team 2x. Now that would be a real 2016 tournament. I know the Express is chomping to get another game with u crabsters and hopefully Club blue before they separate for summer.

Over the last year, Crabs have lost three times - twice to VLC and recently to CB. Yes, the team they have now is different than last summer's version. They kicked a bunch of players/families to the curb, added several new players, and have several players who would otherwise be in 9th grade if they hadn't repeated.

The Crabs have a tournament that LI Express is in over July 7-8 weekend that appears to have many of the very top teams from around the country at this age group called the Young Guns conference. It includes Crabs and Greene Turtle. Here are the teams currently registered:

That's because the Crabs are not age eligible for Tri-State so they never go in the younger ages. They also never go to the U-15 tourney in Florida. Same goes for many other MD teams so they created their own tourney where age is not a problem. We'll just kick butt in MD.

I do not have a child on Crabs, but I can assure you they are age-eligible for both Tri-State and FL. They comply with US Lacrosse U-15 age rules. They, and others, stopped going to Tri-State about 2-3 years ago. Frankly, the competition was a little suspect, the fields and reffing spotty, and the traffic--especially for the FRI games--pretty awful. As for FL, many of the kids from these teams play for FCA or Next Level down there.

You might take your own advice. The Crabs host Crabfeast on the weekend of June 30-July 1, but that is NOT for the 2016 class. To say the Express 2016 Orange team has improved is an understatement. With the exception of 3 players the entire squad has been re-vamped. I'm not sures others have improved at the same rate given that many of the the other teams' top players now reside with the Express.

I have seen them play and they are pretty solid. I am not even a fan of the Express program in general, but I appreciate good lax at any level or from any program.

I think there are 14 yr olds that have infiltrated this forum and are using inflammatory remarks that easily mess with the heads of way-too-tightly-wrapped "adults" who are easily goaded into laughable responses. Why is there no talk of Team 91 they are a very good team this year. The Orange team got rid of some of the Hills kids who couldn't play at this level and picked up some good kids from the Raider program. They poached a lot of the Raider 2016 team, coach and all. The Hills kids who (last year) were forced onto the old orange team are now (2012)sent down to white, some of the better Hills kids left, leaving a huge void but the new Orange 91 team has some excellent players and will be giving all teams a good run for the title. We heard a lot of Hills crying with moving them down but we are a better team without those Hills kids. Last year those parents were a nightmare.

Are you sure you're from 91? I am and your information is not totally correct. Seems like you have nothing better to do than fan the flames due to some gripe you have with the Hills Group. We prefer to be judged by our play on the field, not the heresay, rumors and nonsense that goes on hear.

A few points here a) 91 did not get rid of a few "Hills" kids they had a competitive tryout and some kids that were on the team last year did not make it, where they were from was not a factor, this in no way was a Hills purge. b) 91 did not poach the Raiders program, as another organization on LI expressly tried to develop a "super" team and "recruited not poached" players from a few organizations including the Raiders, The Raiders coaches decided to join 91. The advantage of joining 91 was that all the Raiders would have a place to play, if not on 91 Orange then on white ect. the Raiders only had 2 teams last year 2016 and 2018 and both teams rolled into 91, most the the 2016 raiders went to Orange while most of the 2018 stayed together and are now playing on a 91 "Raiders" team, and a few found other homes.

there are a lot of very good 2016 teams on LI and 91 Orange is certainly one of them - the wish here was that the better LI teams would play each other more, not for bragging rights on BOTC but for better lacrosse competition.

Doesn't really matter as all will change when kids decide on public or private later this year. Based on what I've heard through the grapevine, the easy bet is St A's and Chaminade will attract most of the best talent in this grade. The public schools will continue to find it harder and harder to compete.

SJB education is second to none. I have a kid there that plays varsity lax. Because of the way the diocesan high schools are set up the will never be able to compete with St A. or Cham. an lax. Great academics, send your kid if you can. he can make up the recruiting in the summer

What is it about "the way the diocesan high schools are set up" that SJB could never compete with St. A or Cham? I'm new to the Catholic school scene. Please shed some more light on why the setup makes it so that the duopoly of St A's and Chaminade can't be broken into. You can have an army standing on the sidelines but the reality is you only need 15 really good ones to compete in HS where subs are rarely made except at middie. Thanks.

If you have never been to St A. OR Cham. You should visit. Truly the most amazing commitment to athletics. St.A . Has a gym that is easily 3/5th of the school, and Cham.'s new complex is amazing. both with world class training facilities. Cham. has also been the hallmark for finer education (if your kid can get in, very high standards). With that being said, they are both independently run (not by the Diocese of Rockville center). where as SJB and Holy Trinity are. Suffice it to say that SJB and HT are traditional catholic schools. Now with that being said, being independent they are free to higher any coach the please, and put tuition monies to use in any way they see fit. SJB and HT must ask to diocese, and they put a much higher standard on academics.

Lots of parents would prefer to see their kid stand on the sideline at Chaminade than start for 4 years at a public. The alumni network is a who's-who in the corporate world and they bend over backwards to help younger alums. Its a 40 year decision, not a lax decision. If you have a kid that can get in you are crazy not to have him go. That would be like turning your back on an Ivy. Also, a borderline kid at a public is not getting into an Ivy but a borderline kid from Chaminade very well could.

It's sad that it comes down to who you know and not how well you perform in everything you do. Really hurts a lot of kids!!! Why not teach kids the right thing, to work hard instead of always having parents weaseling to make the "right connections". Much better to help kids learn perserverance and to work hard than to know "who's-who in the corporate world" or any world for that matter. Very sad that every move is so calculated in many parents. Just enjoy life and teach our young what is right.....WORK FOR IT!!!

I know this is a boys thread , but the topic surfaced so Let me put my 2 cents in about the girls team. Coached by a former Adelphi player, and current L.I.Wave coach, and that is clearly where her localities are. She has 5 or six players from the wave on the team and they play all the time. If your kid doesn't want to play at Adelphi or on the Wave she will be shunned. She does not know how to teach a girl to defend. Worst of al,l all she does is yell at the girls, and after a loss this year at Kellenberg she made her team line up on the field and run sprints on the opposing teams field in front of everyone.

Thankfully I've seen that the manipulation ends on the high school team (club teams will alway be prone to it) - if anything it backfires and sets a kid back in the high school program. The JV and varsity coaches in our school don't want to hear the opinions of the parents and have written emails to all the parents not to even try. They are very aware of who the manipulators are (their reputations are not a well kept secret, especially if they've had an older kid go through the program) and have called out several of them in a fairly public way. You don't want to be on the wrong side of that conversation.

I believe what you're saying is true in the public schools for sure... I can only go by what I've heard, but the political BS is worse in the catholic school, than even the club teams. Now you're dealing with big money donors and alumni relationships. A very powerfull thing to overcome. However, if your son is a true super star, you're set. Everyone wants to win!

My sons team(Lofng Island Pride) has recently played 2 great lacrosse teams. Tenetious Turtles and 91 orange. Long Island Pride is a powerhouse orginization and i know the owner. He is a class act even when the pride rocked to amazing teams both games by about 7 goals. GO PRIDE!!! #1 2016 team!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Pride 2016 is a B TEAM at best. They would get crushed by any team on that list.

Crabs have their hands full before they even begin to start thinking about where they stand vs the LI teams. They are the #2 seed in the NPYLL playoffs next weekend behind Club Blue, to whom the Crabs lost. Crabs play Next Level, whom they beat by four goals last weekend, next SAT in the semis, and then (if they win), they play the winner of Club Blue and Annapolis Hawks in the other semi. Crabs will certainly be out for revenge. Good luck to all.

There are many Mid-Atlantic teams, including the Crabs, that should be in front of most, if not all, the teams on this list.

Just curious why the express has an automatic #1 ranking over the rest of the island? Not sure who've they played this spring other than off LI teams. Just because they've decide to play nonLI teams doesn't mean they are better than them.

I wouldnt say every "big time team" was there. Crabs had over 80 goals for the first four games and gave up maybe 6. Nothing there until vs Chargers in their Sunday am game which was a good game won by Crabs. In the "Championship" Crabs defeated Jersey Edge by 6 goals or so. Need more mid atlantic teams for these boys to play aginst which they will see at the GT tournament in Balt. next weekend. Express Orange would have been good to see there. So far these two have played very close.

Can someone please tell me how team 91 orange 2016 plays in a seventh and eight grade division and brag about it time to step up to the plate and play some real teams

Has anyone ever had a club tryout team that did not have set lines or even starting lines. Coach randomly mixes the lines on attack and midfield. It seems to me that there is no chemistry. They are a good team that gets to the semis but do not seem to win the big game. He waits until we are either down or tied to put the best players, usually to late to play catch up. Any theories on this style of coaching, it drives me crazy!

I've seen this firsthand and I think every club team should think about doing it. Like every parent, I think my kid should be starting and he does on his school team. However, his club coach, who is very well known and highly regarded, has a philosophy of treating every kid as equally as possible. So, he does what you are talking about - has kids by position call out numbers and thats how the lines go out - 1-3, 4-6 etc. And, it does not start fresh every game so wherever we left off in one game is how we start in the next. There is also no specialized man-up or man-down team - whoever is out there at the time of the penalty is who you go with. Every club is "pay to play" and the idea is not to win every game but give equal playing time to every kid who all paid the same amount of money. It keeps the peace among the parents and usally works out to all players seeing about the same amount of field time over the course of a tournament. The club concept is to deveop every kid as equally as possible - not bury some on the bench when the going gets tough - save that for the school teams.

I was at Lehigh this weekend and it seemed that most of the 7th/8th grade "A" bracket was teams from the 8th grade with the exception of the turtles. The other 7th grade "A" teams were in the "B" bracket. I do know that 91's tournament schedule has been set for several months now and posted on their website. I have read here that the express orange team is rearranging their summer schedules because of the competition level not being up to their liking. Some of these are tournaments that 91 is scheduled to be at. If they wanted to play 91, they had several oppurtunities to do so.

Crabs is by far the dominant U15 (2016) out there. My sons PA team thankfully did not play them at UDEL this past weekend and they just tore through everyone calmly w/ little effort. A team from jersey, I belive the Patriots had a few players who proceeded to get the Crabs riled up by their antics therefore had their noses rubbed in the dirt 20-2. One player had 3 tech fouls ( the third for 3 min un releasable) and the Patriot coach allowed the player to come back in though he cost his team 5 goals. Shameful!

Wrong. The Crabs squeaked out a 2 goal win vs CT Chargers. The Crabs also lost to Club Blue earlier this spring. They are an excellent team, but not unbeatable.

Without the 97 bdays and repeaters, Express Orange would be very ordinary. Not surprisingly all of their key players fall into one or both of those categories. If you can't beat the MD programs at their own game, join them.

In any legit tournament the rules state that if you have kids that are over the age cut off, they must play in the next bracket UP... Hence your team should be playing U-16 or U17 depending on the event. Here in LI that means 2015, 2014 or 2013 bracket. Only problem for you guys is the other teams will be the same age. No more advantage.

The point is that the express is making a big deal out of not playing 91 when they were set to play in two tournaments this year and the express decided to go else where. Cite whatever reason you would like for that decision. If express wanted play 91 so bad, they would of stayed in one of those tournaments. BTW, I know the 91 team has played the outlaws and was set to play the turltles last weekend until they lost and dropped into the losers bracket. Express went to mad lax last year the only team that scored a goal on them is not there they are in the patriot games they won the other games by 17 or more 91 trying to follow in the expresses foot steps . 2. Are you really that stupid? I'm not a Crabs parent, but while it's weird how MIAA families like to reapeat 8th grade in order to be bigger on the field, they are not breaking any rules. U15 states the kid must be born after 9/1/98, so even if their roster consists of kids who have repeated a year, they are not breaking any rules for a U15 division.

Not only that, the kid now has an additional year of competition under his belt. He will now be playing primarily against younger less expierenced players. So when a team loaded with kids who should be playing 2015 play other real 2016 teams they look all world. Anyway you look at it's BS. By the way. What kind of sick degenerate parent has their kid repeat eight grade for an edge in lacrosse? This makes the nut jobs who hold their kid back a year from starting school look normal...

It's usually the fathers of kids that think their kid can't compete in the grade they should be in and the fact that the fathers were also never any good in lax or other sports themselves that hold their kids back for lacrosse. Re-living their youth again. The pressure from these type of parents will eventually burn the kid out or the kid will go wild in college when daddy isn't there to tell him what to do anymore. I feel bad for the wives too, especially after the kids are grown and it's just the two of them.

Wrong. Most kids who just finished 8th grade were born in 1998. Those who may have repeated are born in 1997. It is U15, so those kids who may have repeated are still eligible.

Stop tilting at windmills. I would never have my son repeat a grade, but it happens all the time in other sports: basketball, football, hockey, etc. The only people I've ever seen complain about it are Long Island lacrosse parents.

My son attended and enjoyed it very much. I spent the day there yesterday and thought it was run very well. I liked that coaches spoke everyday about what it takes to be a collegiate athlete. I witnessed interaction with college coaches and the campers during morning drills in the stadium.

LOL. Yes, there were alot of 91 kids at the camp. There were also plenty of kids from other teams. I saw helmets and recognized kids from as express orange, jesters, true blue, fl$ and several towns. The 91 kids seemed evenly divided among the teams as far as numbers go so it was far from an organized practice for them.

BTW, my son mentioned as least 7 or 8 college coaches who instructed them on drills, coached teams or gave talks. Knowing the attention span of a 14 y.o. boy, you could guess at least 12 ccolleges were represented.

91 lost big to laxzchussets this weekend. My son is friends with an express player and they have beat laxachussets twice, two weeks ago by 10 goals. The express has lost two games and won all the rest. Both games to the crabs.

I know parents on both teams. I heard from 91 they played laxachussets twice at Laxfest last weekend. Tied the first game on Saturday and lost by 3 goals to them in the playoffs on Sunday. I think you got the express vs. laxachussets scores wrong. I was told they won by 3. Two weeks ago, express was at forsberg tourney. I don't think laxachussets was there. I know the express played laxachussets in the spring. Not sure about a second game.

Laxachussets smacked Team LI around on the final and won by 20+. They also admitted afterwards to being a U-16 team and have added players since loosing to the express.

My son attended and loved it...he is 2017 and had the coaches from HOFSTRA,LEHIGH,TOWSON,WAGNER and MARQUETTE all come up to him and ask him is info and help him with instruction. For a rising eighth grader what more do you want??? Great camp.

Express Orange played Laxachusetts in the Spring on Long Island, and I thought Express won by 5 goals or so. I might be wrong about the margin of victory. The two teams played again the week after the Forsberg tournament up in New Haven, CT, and Express Orange won 14-4. There is a lot of talent on both teams. Also, there was good sportsmanship throughout the game. Kudos to both programs for seeking each other out so the kids can compete and get better.

Records vs. common opponents are meaningless. Remember the saying "That's why they play the games.".

Was in Maryland July 1-3 for the USLacrosse Nationals. Middle School games were insane. Rochester, NY, Long Island, New England and PA made the Final Four. Rochester, New [lacrosse] won the Middle School and High School Divisions.

It was a GREAT day to be a CRAB! Remember, its only a rivalry if both sides win some. So, not a rivalry yet.

They played in the 2017 age braket. All you have to do is look at their website. The results were posted before the end of the day. That being said, they played very well and dominated everyone. Can't imagine anyone in their age group beating them. They never allow their competitors to clear the ball and they score on almost every posession. As a lax novice, it seems to me that if you can clear the ball against them, you might have a fighting chance.

Leaving aside the heat, the Young Guns tournament was very well done, and the competition was excellent.

Bottom line in U-15 is that after SAT pool play the A bracket was won by the Crabs at 3-0 and the B bracket was won by the Greene Turtle at 3-0. They were the only two undefeated teams from pool play. The second place team in the Crabs bracket was the West Coast Starz, which the Crabs beat about 10-5. The second place team in the Turtle bracket was Long Island Express, which the Turtle beat 6-1.

Sunday was a new day. In the semis, the Starz beat the Turtle in OT 5-4. Well-played by both teams. Crabs defeated the Express. That set up rematches of the day before's games and both the Starz and Express avenged the prior day's losses. Starz won the tournament, defeating the Crabs, and the Express took the Turtle to OT again and avenged the prior day's loss as well, 3-2.

Really excellent lacrosse being played out there, and the Crabs were very gracious and hospitable hosts.

Yes, I was at the Young Guns Tournament, but was on a team that did not play them. I saw Tenacious Turtles play against Next Level and Crabs. It was a very well run tournament. Unfortunately very hot - they cut some of the games down to 8 min quarters in the afternoon of the first day because it was so hot. I think it was the right call.

I was with Riptide at Boys Latin. We got spanked all weekend. Although the other teams beat us they did not seem older. They seemed legit. Any other feedback on the other 2016 teams, age wise?

It was nice to be at a legit tournament that was well run. I think most teams cry when they loose. They complain about older kids playing because some kids are just getting huge. We have played so many of these kids the boys know each other and are friendly when they face each other. Bottom line is I believe the directors keep it honest and within the rules. Unfortunately year cutoffs are different in states. The US lacrosse guidelines should have shut people up but losing somehow over rules parental common sense. This filters down to the kids listening to the parents complain.

The laxachusetts coach admitted after the LI Laxfest that their 2016 team would be a U-16 team if they went age based. Not sure if this is the same team they bring to the U-15 tournaments or not.

Stop if they beat you deal with the loss. They fit the the US lacrosse guideline we talked to them. The Laxfest team is the 2016 team they travel with. Go to there website stop complaining. They have a good 2016 team ask team LI who spoke to their director on the phone. Team LI thought they had older kids but they fit US llacrosse guidelines. Team LI wasn't happy at the defeat but LAxachussets boys are just big .

Team United out of Monmouth, NJ as well as Freedom both played in Maverick Big Time tourney. Both teams can move the ball as well as move in general. TU has a Don Bosco RB on their roster. You can tell with the perpetual ward who it is.

Can anybody tell me anything about Team 91 2016 Orange? I hear they have a reputation for cheap shots and dirty play. Is that true?

How many threads are you trying to start a rant against 91 orange on?..first the 91 thread now here...I smell somme sour grapes. I don't even know anyone on that team but your odd obsession with trying to get people smashing them is a bit creepy......just sayin.

Probably time to give WCS their due. The score during during pool-play was not 10-5. It was 7-4 with the Crabs winning. I'm a parent of one of the WCS kids and I was there to watch the Crabfeast Young Guns Tournament. WCS beat a very skilled Green Turtles team in the semis in OT which could have gone the other way. WCS then came back from a 0-3 deficit to beat the Crabs and win the Championship. The Crabs dominated on face-offs the first day. Not sure WCS won one. In the championship the WCS team won a few but which gave them a chance to win. The Crabs were gracious hosts and the tournament was run well (Although it was a little funny hearing Crab parents screaming at the refs-I don't remember any of the Crab players serving one minute of penalty time during the two game WCS played you). I really believe WCS have the more skilled team. If WCS gets a dominate FOGO, the West Coast Starz will win the majority of the time against this Crabs team. We haven't played the Dukes or Club Blue or Jesters. I'm interested to hear how you think the 2016 WCS team would do against some of these other teams... (preferably if you've seen the 2016 WCS-team play)

I think that is a big statement that you can win the majority against this crab team. I was there also and you were up 2 to 0 and they dominated after that. You want to know where you stand get the dukes, crabs, green turtles, long island express orange and the ct titans together that would be a great tournament . I can promise you not one team will be undefeated

I don't think the crabs dominated in anything but in face-offs won. Possession time is huge when teams are evenly matched. How many more opportunities did the crabs have because of winning face offs? What I said was I think the WCS win more than they would loose if they found a fogo that dominated like the crabs kid did. I don't know it the Express team wan the orange team but I think the one I saw looked very good. We played the Green Turtles. We haven't seen or played the Dukes. I think it would be great to get all these top teams to play in one tournament.

That's unbelievable. How in the world does the team practice together as one unit on a regular basis given that some kids live hundreds of miles apart? Most East Coast teams draw 99% of their kids from a 50 mile radius. Please explain. Thanks.

The kids only practice the day after they arrive at tournaments. As they play together they build chemistry. Each tournament is a tryout so the kids know they need to perform and give good effort. There were only a couple new kids so most know the offense . I think it's fair to acknowledge that the WCS have to deal with the time change, travel, the humidity is tough, and work together with very little practice.

And I'm sure when they get together they sing Kumbahya together.

No not that one. They sang "We are the Champions".

I think the 2016 P team refers to the "Piranhas" and the B team is the "Barracudas".

Does anyone know the difference between the 2016 Barracudas, Piranhas and Terps? Thanks.
