Anyone doing the spotlight showcase? Worthwhile to go there?
No coach is looking at a 2027 kid.
Agree with this comment for the most part, but there may be an advantage to getting into good showcases next year if you have something like the Spotlight on your resume. It’s all a money grab and pretty frustrating, but like all things in American youth sports, you have to pay to play.
Go for film. Go for playing experience. But agree that recruitment ain’t happening
I agree. For those who are interested in playing at the next level it can’t hurt to start building film. As this group heads into high school. It’s time to start thinking about the recruiting process. Yes I know they still have plenty of time and no one is recruiting 9th graders but for the top tier players. They need to start thinking about what they want Inside lacrosse has been doing some good podcasts with coaches about the recruiting process. Some good stuff. Give it a listen.
