Madlax 28 cap would beat Madlax 27 cap for the record. Their ball movement is far superior.

They are more talented for sure but you aren’t taking into account the puberty factor.

It’s a big difference from 4th graders beating 5th graders vs 6th graders playing a team full of teenaged 7th graders.

I’m not the original poster of this comment, as it’s just unnecessary. But for what it’s worth, these two teams used to practice regularly and the 28’s would beat them on occasion. And the 27 team has really dropped off last year++. Lost 4-5 key players to NL, BLC, etc

Just wait a few years and see this get worse. In my 4th grades elementary class, 2/3 of kids repeated 2nd grade or 3rd grade due to Covid. You are going to start seeing this is all sports, not just lax.

Madlax 2028 is easily older than 85% of 2027 teams across the county.

First national teams are not real teams and literally one cares about them except the parents who feed the money grab operations that they are.

The vast majority of the best players at this age don’t even bother with national teams until high school.

And there are not 5-7 real teams better than Madlax.

But if you have seen most 2027s play across the country, you would know that the Madlax 2028 squad could beat 2/3 of them easily. In most of the country, there aren't even really club tryouts. They need numbers to run a team with the few good players they have.

In most of the country where there ARE club tryouts, they either happen in January (spring season) or April (looking for tournament players).

Imagine a bunch of teams where 1 player goes D2 or D3, that's it. That's most of American middle school lacrosse. And that's why the Midwest (and maybe now the southeast?) loves True, with its long complicated list of regional teams, state teams, national team 1, 2, and 3, etc.

Bull squat. They have no decision in the matter. And the Placement Meeting hasn’t happened yet.

They can request it. But Hoco won’t likely allow it. They didn’t even win 2028 elite last year. And don’t have enough (any) fall results showing they can beat AAA 27s.

The only data point we have to go on is Madlax 2028 vs Predator 2027 in October. It was not pretty, Madlax won like 9-1. Doesn’t say much about Predator 2027, but they’d beat a lot of 2027 teams.

If u believe ML2028s are playing in 27 division u eat more paintchips than the unspooled Hawks dad who creeps up behind opposing players' parents and talks smack.

Breaking. Madlax is asking HoCo if the 2028's can play in AA 2026.

I couldn't imagine anything more boring than rehashing Hawks vs. Madlax discussions yet again, but then came the one Madlax vs. another Madlax discussion and I realized how very wrong I had been.

Hot take- Madlax has a down year. 5-6 losses over spring and summer. Better than most, but not up to their previous standards.

I think there will be more parity this spring and summer than in the past. The gap between the top 10-15 clubs on the east coast just isn’t that wide. There will be lots of Freedom win over Hawks or Next Level over Madlax type games. Still think Hawks and Madlax are the best in the area overall, but I’d be surprised if we don’t see multiple losses for both teams.
