There seems to be a lot of finger pointing at every school that is not MCD, BL and CHC. Get used to it, at least for a while. The playing field is not level and won't be as long as transferring in from elsewhere and being allowed to play immediately is allowed. If you have to sit a year if you transfer within the MIAA, then it is only fair that you have to sit if you transfer from elsewhere. The rest of the MIAA needs to stand up to MCD, BL and CHC, before this practice becomes the norm and those 3 teams are 3 of the final 4 every year. The fourth will be the school that happens to have a core of good players, kids of alums and can possibly pick up some disgruntled kids from the other 3 schools who hopefully see the writing on the wall before 9th grade. It is sad to see what is happening to a once great conference.

How many 1-year transfers and/or out of state players are currently on the rosters of MCD, BL and CHC? Could the transfer/boarder competitive advantage be exaggerated?

BL and MCD it’s not exaggerated. Both got senior transfers this year that contribute. BL will play kids from Neptune if their parents lay down the boarding cash. MCD too but to a much lesser extent. Much lesser.

I’m not aware of that being the case at CHC this year wrt to out of state and transfers. Has been in the past obviously.

The BL vs. St. Mary's stats were in the paper. BL had 8 goals, 5 assists from the boarding kids, 6 goals, 1 assist from Ford and 1 goal, 2 assists from other local kids.

Gilman can’t compete because their coach is incompetent!!! Gilman had a lot of talent this year but they needed more than a rec coach. No kid who wants to play at a high level should never go there, the academics aren’t that great and the politics are to the extreme left.

Mollot's kid played as a freshman on varsity. I would expect he's gotta be coming to the sidelines soon

Rumor has it the Crumbles are following Coach U to STM? LOL

Man, jealousy is an ugly thing. The reality is that Coach U is a great guy and his players loved playing for him. The LB program is currently in excellent shape with good talent returning and good talent in the pipeline. The next coach has a very good foundation to build upon along with top flight athletic facilities and the full support of the new AD. The 2 young men you referred to (you ignorant jacka**) live across the street from campus and are absolutely not following Coach U to his new gig as an asst. at StM. I can only assume they at some point have (deservedly) taken playing time from your own kid? That's the only explanation I can come up with...

No one said U isn’t a good person, he just wasn’t a good coach for Loyola. The players who “loved” playing for him are part of the special ones that can do no wrong (GRIT!) , the rest of the players, not so much. Yes, it’s silly to think anyone who stepped on the varsity field this year would follow him (MIAA rules etc, etc). However, the only reason those young men made it as freshman was as a favor to their father. ESPECIALLY the freshman this year.

Love Coach U but he and his staff repeatedly got burned by their opponents halftime adjustments to Loyola's sets. Likely entire new staff next year, especially with the brief coaching tenure of True Benadryl.

New Coach is the Assistant Hockel. It was announced last night. Phipps is stepping away pursing a new career path, and most importantly to spend more time with his family. As for Mollot coming on staff… joke and again daddy ball. The guy is a clown.

In the last 10 years only 4 teams have won the MIAA championship; CHC, BL, McDonogh and St. Mary's. St. Mary's and Spalding have also competed in the championship game multiple times in that same span. I expect that Spalding will be back in the championship game in 2 years. Sorry these teams live in your head, you silly man.

Teams that host all of these boarders need to be removed from the MIAA... It's not fair to the other teams

There seems to be a lot of finger pointing at every school that is not MCD, BL and CHC. Get used to it, at least for a while. It is sad to see what is happening to a once great conference.

Yes, this is exactly why Gilman can’t compete. It’s not fair!!!!!!

Gilman's issues go back well past out of region/state players, boarding and even hold backs. Is this year 10 of not making the playoffs? If the above is not addressed, LB, SPS and STM will be playing for fourth in perpetuity.

Sometimes all you need is 1 or 2 out of state to complement what you have. That's all it took for McD this year with Santa Claus coming to town. BL does it on a very large scale. Either way, MIAA has to apply same rules and that is to sit out a year. Also, make BL play in the A conference in EVERY sport and see what that does. After all the "International Boarding School" can recruit for other sports...

Thats his issue not mine. MD along with Tillman have done it again..Lost a game they should have won. Tillman is a good assistant coach at best, without the talent of last few years that MD attracts, Tillman would be a marginally decent Head Coach, a better recruiter and assistant who stares at an ipad when they need leadership and strength. He almost lost them the Championship last year , lucky for us , we had the players.

Spalding JV parents are all talking about how Phipps said the JV team in two years will make the championship games just like the class of 2021. JV parents simmer down your kids are all entitled and your big egos need to come down a notch. Your kids are nothing special.

Head coach of a team and a dad. If you know Mollot and how he coaches… well good luck with his hot head temper, throws kids sticks, berates kids for mistakes he offers nothing positive. He is He is making sure his son plays 100% of the time and that’s all he cares about. Future lacrosse prospects if Mollot is a coach I suggest you look elsewhere, actually run there are better schools

BL wants to be the NE boarding school of the MidAtlantic. Will start to accept out of staters over local talent sooner than later.
Teams that host all of these boarders need to be removed from the MIAA... It's not fair to the other teams

Cry me a river, MIAA has turned a blind eye to so many things, This is just another step in the MIAA's quest to be at the top of lacrosse heap of programs.

Agree 100%. Not only is he a freshman - he's an on age freshman. No reclassing. Kid isn't even 19 yet.

Agree, Tillman is not a leader or a coach that inspires. Ever hear a MD player talk about Tillman like that? Nope. He can sure analyze an ipad and play slowball, which has cost him several big games and almost many others big games.

Lucky for "us"? Oh, you're on the team? Then I defer to your opinion. Lol.

They just won it all last year, you oaf. A "marginally decent assistant coach" can't pull that off. And regarding the goalie, mark my words: you're comments won't age well.
