Actually...2 county championships in the past 3 years, plus most of those years they played in the toughest division in the State, you know the one with GC and Manhasset. Again, Wantagh wins a lot of championships in numerous sports.

They have one their league for 10 consecutive seasons. I’d say they are doing Ok.

Nice to see Sinai has caught the unsportsmanlike bug, sorry but a true AA does not need to put up ball hog numbers in a blowout. I could be wrong but dont remember them doing this nonsense in the past. Hey AA maybe get your head up and make a pass.

Does anyone know if St Ants has played a game yet?? Nothing has been reported anywhere. If not, that's a strange start for them. They would have usually played some pretty decent competition by now.

Hey Mr. Wantagh..what about 2016 county championship game, when they choked against Manhassett in last seconds.

How about Babylon in a15-2 blowout of Port Jefferson. That game must have been over in the first 10 minutes.

Padding assists in these ridiculously bad games is almost as bad as goals. Kids do it to run their "points" up. Most of those same kids have zero ground balls, barely ride in transition and never battle on the draw circle.

Question - How are players chosen for All county? Do they look at a players goals in total, playing ability or the quality of their play? So if a player has 10 goals but all against an "easy" team but another player has 8 against harder teams does that come into consideration?

The good coaches will use the eye test. The girls who dominate the play of the game are not always the ones putting up big numbers, especially in those blowout games. I can tell you right now the very worst girls on my daughters team are very capable of scoring 5-6 goals in those blowout games, and sadly often do. Most of the really good players would be embarrassed to do so and self regulate their own goal scoring. Why self regulate? Because the parents raised them correctly and they know better even when the coach doesn’t stop that crap. Stats in HS are a complete joke, go watch the tough games and you will Spot the 3-4 kids on the field who will earn All County even before a single goal is scored.

First off many coaches keep a good feeder in even mismatched games to spread the ball otherwise it can become a mess and to disparage kids for essentially passing the ball is ridiculous. Your concept of spotting the all county players is ill informed at best , all county selections are purely based on how your team finishes and who your coach selects .
