For BIC do you need to apply the minute applications open? Seems fast to complete rosters. Or does BIC pretty much have the girls picked before application season begins? The latter… they offer spots to a large portion of the girls that participated the year prior without the application process even opening and know most of the girls they are giving spots to. Deemer also proactively reaches out to top club teams and says nominate your top 5 players.

Has anyone signed up their DD for the new Winter best in class showcase? IMG in January for a day and a half. My daughter made BIC yet I have no idea what this is and don’t see it on their website… BIC has an application process or basically an invite from attending last year...are you saying she made it and you didn't even apply?? As for PP, I can't imagine many MD families will be going to the BIC event in Florida when there are plenty right around MD/DE. If your daughter wants a better shot of getting in have her sign up for Deemer clinics, that is $ more well spent (strong correlation for girls who pay for his clinics and get invited to BIC) that spending it flying to Florida for a day. What are the Deemer clinics that are referenced above? Are you implying that BIC is a pay to play event based on attending other paid trainings and events? Deemer runs small group clinics in the Baltimore area weekly in the fall (happening right now)...if you were to attend these clinics you would see a strong correlation between the girls there and those that are invited to the BIC summer event. Are there many girls invited to BIC that don't pay for these small group clinics? Of course I think you have to sign up for the all the fall sessions which makes it real expensive for a "clinic". I have heard they are good. Probably attracts the top talent around the area. BIC is worth the dough. Quality experience with great instruction. Down the line there is much more too it and it helps!!! My older one was at a lesser known public school and the competition level helped her get to her best game. Wouldnt miss it for my daughter at this age. 100% Based on another message board's numbers. Best in Class: 168 of 175 girls from last year are committed Juniors Open: 214 of 334 girls from last year are committed. Assuming these numbers are directionally correct, then Deemer clearly know how to identify top talent.

Look at the top freshman commits to the top ten D1 schools. I think you will see most are holdbacks at some point!? Extra year or two of development does give those guys an edge. Especially starting in middle school or younger as a holdback. It’s an elitist sport And favors those that can play the extra year(s) of development card! They get recruited and the college coaches could care less about it and just want to win!
I don’t like it, but it is facts in this sport. Others too, like hockey. Biggest problem for me is it’s not fair to those who can’t afford to play by those rules and get extra years! It favors the deep pockets and it gives those kids extra advantages in the sport. Life is a different story! We are talking about recruiting and playing lacrosse at a top D1 program. You are correct. Rich people are ruining the sport. If their kids need to reclass now imagine if the game becomes more diverse, their kid could never compete.

Assuming its still 8 teams, I think BIC is pretty close to done.
16 goalies already signed up When were all of the invites sent out if it's full? Been going out since August. I’m sure there is a few around but most of the invites went out in August and not many since. Where is everyone finding the numbers on BIC? Is it published somewhere? You can see your position in leagueapps after you register.

Once your daughter is accepted and you register/are rostered you can see the other players that have registered. Only the same position though.

We had a meh national experience. Should have trusted our gut instinct. After lots of salesmanship from the director to try out, we realized very quickly at the first tourney that the team was just a money grab that slapped a "national" label on a PA/DE club team. Comparing scores against common opponents and development, our regular club team was much better than the national team we played for.
So for extra runs, I guess it was ok. For development, or winning, it was not good. And certainly not for the price tag they put on it. Most of which was mandatory gear purchase. So we got a few bad tourneys and a nice shiny gold helmet that we'll never wear again!

You're talking to a few dozen kids a year. That covo likely doesnt apply to anyone posting here. The huge majority of kids are going to mid and bad D1 schools and D2s/D3s. Still quite the accomplishment. It's still really good lacrosse. The good news to worried parents- your drinking buddies at the country club don't really know what they are talking about and have already missed the boat. Recruiting just ain't like it used to be, even 10 years ago. Those Top D1 spots just ain't available like they used to be. The smart kids are the ones who take the recruiting spots they are offered at any level, and then hit the portal after getting some college film. It's now quite common for kids to transfer from low D1 and top 20 D3 schools to very good D1 programs. Happens a lot, in fact.

Anyone here join a "national" team? What's the difference between that and a club team? The national team is for the parents ego and no development. The club team is supposed to be for the kids and development. But to each their own My older son has played a “national team” and had a great experience. We didn’t take it too seriously, he met some great kids from other regions and we had a good time with the parents. Yes, there was a cost to it but overall the experience itself was actually pretty good. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Sounds like poster above is correct. You wouldn’t hesitate to do it again, but what about your son? Did he get better at lacrosse or did you pay for him to have friends? Have a look at 90 % of the scores from all age group's and tell me how that’s good lacrosse. It’s not. The Red Hots and Nationals LC are good for Instagram. They basically play rec level teams at most of the tournaments and have double digit wins. But hey, those behind the back passes and goals are great for Instagram.

In my opinion, regional/national teams are a head scratcher. Look at the 2026 teams that are committing to college now, half are from out state anyway. And all those kids are on ONE club team, I would venture to guess. These national/regional teams are sold as “super teams”…and none of them would ever beat the top Express and 91 teams by time the HS years come. Just find a team from a reputable club that has dedicated coaches, and all will be well. And make sure there is time to play other sports. Your son is not missing out of anything in the lax world. Long Island by playing on 2nd team. It is already so saturated in club that the next revenue stream is creating national and regional teams because clubs can’t expand further east anymore. Remember this is a business. And the key measure of success amongst the clubs, again, in my opinion, is wins vs losses and college commitments. Go on each club page and look at each clubs commitment list and see who develops the best talent.

Correct. The good players play up a class or two, not down against younger kids.
My 27 has had a ton of looks already, because I've been playing him up as a 26 and he's been dominating all these reclassed underperformers.
