Spoken like someone whose team didn’t make it to States. Massapequa played an amazing game, double OT, hard fought! Not my team, but we cheered for those girls instead of trolling online trying to diminish what a group of young ladies accomplished. What did you do today?!

They were not impact players?? The goalie started her freshman year in college and is invited to the USA lax tryouts. One defender is at UConn and the other at UChicago and was a huge impact player. So if you're going to try and downplay a team at least get your facts straight.

And Massapequa should be state champs (I know this shocks you). The 8m was not even close to being a false start.

Are AAs being awarded at the Suffolk dinner tonight? I’m hearing only All-County players were invited.

You have to be an All-County to be awarded All American. Yes they will be honored tonight.

If I remember correctly, she received Honorable Mention All American? She will 100% receive next year - very talented!

Add Timarky to the AA list too. She was not able to make the dinner as she has started her ND career.

How could a sophomore get it over a junior who had a better season? Is it because they don't want to give 2 AA to Smithtown East? Even the top player the past 3 seasons didn't get it as a sophomore.

The way it works is coaches nominate players once that is together players are listed 1- that number Then every program in the association votes the players in number order 1 being the best til the bottom so every player is voted by every coach votes are tallied players with the lowest total being the top player all the way down

Quid pro quo. And why is the vote taken before the playoffs? Most of the regular season games are a joke.

1st Team All Long Island is a great honor. Is it listed somewhere?

There is all league (for Catholics) which is more or less the equivalent of all-county, but I don't think there is anything national.

Do the Catholics on LI have a shorter season and play weaker competition/league on LI? We were told and under the impression that Saint Anthony’s was one of the best programs in the country for girls lacrosse?

We are moving to LI and are considering putting our daughter in a catholic school on LI. Thoughts on which one has the best lacrosse program? Thank you.

Catholics play a similar number of games. Similar length season, but starts a little earlier then ends just as public playoffs are starting so it can feel shorter. They are trying to change this.

Catholics have fewer league games and more OOC games, so competition level largely depends on who the school schedules. St Anthonys and Sacred Heart play very demanding OOC schedules, top teams from LI as well as nationally ranked teams from out of state.

"Best" can be subjective based on your criteria, but there is no doubt what program wins the most games - St Anthonys.

Plenty of public schools play nationally ranked out of state competition as well. In fact, i'd argue that there are many public school that have a tougher schedule than St. A's. Nassau power conference and Suffolk Class C in particular. So yes, St A's might have the most wins, but they also play a weaker schedule.

Depends on where you are moving:h in Nassau or Suffolk? which town?

Definitely some great players on this list, a few girls who make their team better, and those around them. Some true game changers. Also a few padded stat kids. Not OP, but definitely think the SE kid was one of the better attackers in Suffolk, not sure about her being AA, but very good.

What towns are you considering and what year & position does daughter play?

We will be moving to Plainview next month and my daughter is a 2026. She is playing Midfield on a club team in Massachusetts. We are considering St. Anthony’s or Sacred Heart for next year. Everyone we speak to, says St. Anthony’s has the best lacrosse program?

They do. But unless she is not a top player she will most likely not get on the field. Dont choose st Anthonys because of their lacrosse team

I would not choose SA - they attract the best players historically. Play weak schedule and coaching is sub par. SH has a legit coach. Less BS.
