I have seen nothing since initial announcement. But many companies are stringing them.

Again US Lacrosse a joke.

Please share if it is out there.

Implementation of this rule will be a nightmare. The basic idea was ok, but the loop holes and non-standardized criteria should make pre-game stick reviews a joke. They should drop the pre-game stick reviews. Most of the HS womens lax officials are sub-par to start with now add this subjective rule to the mix..........yikes!!!

Any and all lacrosse equipment made by manufactures are subjected to USLax and FIL testing. It is contracted and approved by a third party engineering company solely for this purpose. All the approvals are registered with and accepted by NCAA, US lacrosse and the trickle down to schools and tournaments adopting these standards. Any and all manufacturing companies are aware and know this. It is a much cleaner approval for the pre game than the mess of a an after market traditional strung head.

Huh???.......do you really think players purchase a manufacturers stick from a store and go and play. Most will re-string to their liking which now can be almost any type pocket/material as long as you can see the ball over the rail. And again, not to harp on the lack of knowledge that the HS officials will have during pre game stick checks.

My daughter just plays with her older brother who is in HS stick...ball never comes out of pocket and she gets great leverage and speed on shots....

That is the point. You get a million people stringing a different way and it is a mess. These new mesh pockets are factory or at least leave less for the stringer to screw up, it takes the [ChillLaxin] show out of the equation, thereby making the implementation of the rules, at least for the factory pockets, easier. And for what is is worth 90% of the people stringing heads suck at it, especially the women's.

Guess your daughters team was not invited since the best five varsity teams from LI are attending. Four from Suffolk one from Nassau.

Only top 32 high school teams got invites and all 32 are going. Not a money grab, just the best high school teams playing each other.

No YJ teams are listed unless you count Northport, ESM and Mt Sinai

Why are so many of you so bitter? My daughter's team played last year and it was a great weekend. I'm excited about watching her play college lacrosse next month, but since she's my youngest and it feels like it was all over way too quickly, I'd take a repeat of last year too just to experience it all again. Try to enjoy this - if you can put aside your insecurities, it's really a great ride.

That tournament is what it is. It's not a true national championship for HS teams. It's a well run indoor tournament with lots of great competition. It would be a great accomplishment to win, but easy on the "National Championship" hype.

Not sure anyone was pretending its an actual high school national championship as its a 7 on 7 indoor small field format. That said the competition level is better than any other girls lacrosse event out there. As far as the obviously clueless and jealous parents of the large school teams who feel the smaller schools could not possibly compete in the A division, get a clue the B and C divisions on LI have had more talent than those bigger schools for years.

West Islip maybe, Smithtown East and West don't think so and Ward Melville not unless they send their boys team.

You really have no clue .GC, Sinai have been better than any A size LI school for years .The A division has had a large number of weak teams for years and have not had any program that is consistently a strong team. Massapequa was barely won more than they lost and Middle country will never be good again.

Individually Mt. Sinai has been excellent the last five years. Unfortunately across NY state, the class C level is simply not competitive lacrosse.

Ok your obsession with YJ needs to stop the top 32 teams from last seasons inside lacrosse HS rankings were invited. Arguably not the best selection process since seniors graduated etc. but it has to be based on something.

Happy New Year!

Will 2018 bring any change to the lacrosse landscape? Will any college teams break into the select group of elite teams? Which program has the best chance?

How about at the HS level? Will there be any surprises ?

I'll take UNC and Maryland, you can have everyone else. Ride them both until a 2nd tier team like SB Florida and others show they can win the big game

I agree, then it does make you wonder why our '21 YJ team just can't compete. Maybe because he NEVER makes any changes, we've had enough of the losing. Unfortunately, I think more is on it's way this summer. Congrats MS, great job girls.

Yes, congratulations! Who doesn't think he is one of the best coaches on the Island? He does more with less than any other coach out there. Just Imagine what he would be able to accomplish at one of the larger schools out there.

I will say it makes me wonder. In years past the YJ B teams would dominate B divisions and those teams could compete with all but a handful of the A division teams. This 2021 B team are hardly competitive in B tournament divisions. The multitude of club options has depleted the club's ability to put a highly competitive second team on the field. I still feel Bert does a good job with what his is given.

If you were a high school coach, and coached a travel team, would you pick all girls from your high school town to play on your team? YES you would as it will make the high school team much better when the girls get there, having played together and under the coach for many years leading in. He is certainly not the only coach doing this, but obviously he is having the most success at it. It may cost the travel team from being competitive today, but it will certainly help his school team down the road, sorry but those kind of politics are all over.

It has nothing to do with size of school. You only need 15 kids to go out and practice everyday. They buy into what he is doing which is the right stuff. Al is a solid coach that puts a lot of time in developing and game
Planning. If you have a group of kids that work hard and are not complacent you will be successful. This is what he does. Pretty simple
Formula. You can tell they work together a lot, and our on same page.

very good Coach but "doing more with less" is a bit of a stretch when you a fielding 12 -15 college bound lacrosse players every season.
