They give us some of our closest games every year. Agree. They deserve a little credit. They are a decent team. They are not as good as their journey is taking them. No emotion. Just fact. If they weren't in the PAL division you would not hear a word about them. I think may years ago the parents of these players knew Mattituck was going to be moved to class D. So they moved to Mattituck groomed their daughters to play Lacrosse now they are County Champs on the way to States. Most logical explanation.

Why would an adult come onto this site with the sole purpose to put down young girls accomplishments , because you are a [lacrosse] , there is no other explanation. My kid lost in the LIC this year and has been to the states previously and it's an awesome experience that your kid will never have , get over it . We have played Mattituck and have beaten and lost to them in the past but it is always a difficult game . I can guarantee you that if they were in our division they would have been one of the top teams possibly winning it . You're obviously emotionally attached. Just stating facts. Its a weak league. They win in a weak league. No attack on kids. Just stating these nice kids play in a weak division. Every state probably has a league like this. Ours happens to be D. Weak with 5 teams in it. Joke

Anonymous Unregistered A	Suffolk power ranking #1- C division #2- A division #3 - B division # 4 - D division There is a huge gap from 3-4. Mattituck being the one bright spot. C division has some of the best teams, but also some of the worst. A and B could be swapped. Suffolk NEEDS to power conference!

Anonymous Unregistered A	To the "lax fan" who thinks Mattituck is a middle of the pack team. You should try to get them on you teams schedule next year. With them not graduating any starters I'm sure your daughters team should be able to beat up the middle of the pack Mattituck team next year. I'm from Riverhead and trust me-they were no middle of the pack team.

Do they say it's a difficult division or is it just your need to make yourself feel better about your "shortcomings " so you want to knock them down. Anonymous Unregistered A	Which teams have the best chance at winning Suffolk A in 2018? Northport - Rocky road in 17 but made it to the County Finals and should be strong in 2018. West Islip - Some young talent on 2017 team will be in the mix in 2018. Middle Country - Had another good year and won the County and Long Island Championships. Not sure what 2018 will be like. Smithtown East - They lose some talent but they still have enough returning to compete in 2018. Will there be any surprises in 2018?

Anonymous Unregistered A	Our family has been locked up against GC lacrosse for almost 15 years. They never seem to have a down year and when they do, they are still better than 95% of the rest of us. Look at the model. Never a top 25 Nassau scorer. They run a ton of kids out there and not just 12 like the rest of us who play an isolation offense running 1 girl in to a brick wall of defenders. Their community embraces the sport but their youth program teaches the game the right way and doesn't let any PAL coaches kid score 80% of the points. They grow youth interest the right way. congratulations on another championship

According to NYSPHSAA website (not updated for 2017 yet) GC has now won 15 of the last 23. 12 of 18 since 2000 and 7 in a row from 2006-2012. Mt. Sinai is having a great run, but they have a long way to go.

Are you saying that allowing the same few girls to race to the goal every time they touch the ball is not the formula for winning? Our coach doesn't have a problem with it, our coach actually values that type of play. The parents of the girls who display that style of play think it is just great and they are convinced it is why the girls win. The only problem is that it rarely (never) works in the playoffs. Our coach promotes the "ball hogs" and does not understand that their selfish play is a hinderance and the reason for the early exit in the playoffs. Congrats to the teams that win and to the coaches who guide them.

They never seem to have a down year and when they do, they are still better than 95% of the rest of us. Look at the model. Never a top 25 Nassau scorer. They run a ton of kids out there and not just 12 like the rest of us who play an isolation offense running 1 girl in to a brick wall of defenders. Their community embraces the sport but their youth program teaches the game the right way and doesn't let any PAL coaches kid score 80% of the points. Hate or like each other, at least they pass the ball and play like a team Are you telling me that on winning teams girls actually pass the ball with purpose? Are you saying that allowing the same few girls to race to the goal every time they touch the ball is not the formula for winning? Our coach doesn't have a problem with it, our coach actually values that type of play. The parents of the girls who display that style of play think it is just great and they are convinced it is why the girls win. The only problem is that it rarely (never) works in the playoffs. Our coach promotes the "ball hogs" and does not understand that their selfish play is a hinderance and the reason for the early exit in the playoffs. Congrats to the teams that win and to the coaches who guide them. Waaaaaa!!! Your kid probably just isn't good enough for her teammates to pass her the ball. The players know who can catch and who can't. They're not stupid, or who's going to shoot at the goalie AGAIN or who can't catch lefty. Stop whining FAT MOM!!! We know who you are! Wow, what a d--- you are. Now we all know where your selfish brat gets it from. I am not sure what team your daughter plays for but I can tell you that my daughters team lost because of the selfish play of three players and a lot of help from an incompetent coach. I am not sure who you are referring to when you say "we know who you are" . What I do know is if your daughter is one of the selfish players Everybody knows who she is and her teammates can't stand her. I don't know who you are but I will guarantee that few if any of the other parents want anything to do with you. So carry on and continue to encourage your daughter to go to the goal every time she gets the ball and then watch as the team collapses and falls apart under the weight of her selfish play.
