Chaminade or St. Anthony's (or any private school) does not take kids based on where they play summer lacrosse. Kids are accepted based on how well they do on the Catholic School Entrance Exam. So if a kid was playing on Jesters, Outlaws, or 91 from 3rd grade through 8th grade - those two schools would not have had an impact on where a player plays during that time period.

However, when a HS coach is running a travel program that has a town bias like 32 and Liberty do in Manhasset, or like Yellow Jackets have in Northport, or like Ward Melville, West Islip and Northport on the boys side - then there is a conflict of interest. In many cases these same coaches are also teachers or phys ed teachers in the same schools. When you have current teachers wearing their club gear in school and also make "offhand comments" to kids about where they are playing, then that is a conflict of interest.

If a catholic scholl parent "feels" their kid will have a better chance of playing at Chaminade or St. Anthony's and they have their kid play for Express - well that isa decision to do so. It is not a decision that is forced on them. There are plenty of kids who play on other travel programs and still play at Chaminade of St. A's. However, at the public HS level - it is my opinion that is different and it is more of a conflict because our kids are not going to private school and they are definitely feeling the pressure to play for their coaches travel program.

Also a serious conflict of interest with Danielle Gallagher, Manhasset GIRLS VARSITY coach and LIBERTY owner/director.

Why not lump West islip into it, for the youth grades you will also take players not from your town and for the HS years you will not let your top players (to avg players) play elsewhere. Then again why would top players want to play elsewhere.

Saw her strutting around the other day at Manhasset in her Liberty jacket and sweats. Is she still a teacher there?

Would it be to much to ask how many teams express has per age, the level they will play, roster size and who the coaches are.

All of the STARTERS at St Ants play Express because the "have" to - unwritten rule. On the other hand, the kids who have no chance of ever starting are free to play wherever they want although many of their delusional parents will still feel forced to join express hoping that it will make a difference - it won't. The Express directors should step down from St. Ant's or vice versa.

What grade is your son at at St A's and which coach forced him to play Express? Please tell us and name. If you can't you should then retract your statement as hearsay

Was the LIE 2016 team at the UMD Terp Classic their best team? I saw them and they looked awful. If that's LIE's best 2016 team, it's a huge fall from the team they had a few years ago.

Was that a B team, or has LIE lost a ton of players (from the 2016 class, at least).

Regan was one of the last great Manhasset player to play at Chaminade. None of the kids from set that have gone to Chaminade since then have been impact players and they would not have played if they stayed at Set. That continues to be the case.

If you're from MD or PA, I'm sure they did their best against your son's 2016 team, that is without a doubt loaded with kids that are 17 and 18 years old. Yeah, I know same old refrain... You folks just don't like to hear the truth. They're all 2016's... blah, blah, blah, MD and PA teams play down.

Why don't you check it out for yourself. Those are the facts. The good lacrosse players do not leave Set. You can't name a starter for Chaminade from Set in the last 4 yrs probably longer.

1. None of our kids have repeated or are 16, let alone 17 or 18.

2. When you make blanket statements like that, you look like an idiot.

3. The Express 2016 team looked horrible, so I have to assume that is not LIE's best team. I know the Barracudda team two years ago was a one time thing, but man - that 2016 team has really gone downhill.

4. Did a bunch of guys leave for other programs? That's the only explanation I can think of to explain how bad they looked.

Most MD and PA kids play down. You can dispute it all you want, just a fact. Express has 3 or 4 teams at the age. What super team does your little Rabil play for?

You are clueless!!! Sorry your list is wrong not going to mention names (naming kids should be off limits)but some of them play for Set and not Chaminade. Most of the rest would not have started at Set. Again most of the best players in Set stay there. Why is that so bad or difficult to understand. You obviously don't live there or you would know better. Let it be. They are all great kids. It doesn't matter.
