Did I read correctly that Duke is bringing SEVEN grad transfers with very little accolade or playing time among them? Why not hit the portal?

Watching CN in AU is so frustrating-she has no clue how to pass the ball
Duke obviously hit the portal if they have grabbed 7 grad transfers

Where is the uproar? BC brings in 4 transfers, people lose their minds; Duke brings in 7, crickets?

Who’s losing their minds? Just makes it more fun to root against both. Not that deep

I'm confused, it was OK when UNC did they and went on to win the Championship?? Everyone wants to bash the other teams for doing the same thing? Please explain?

The Grad Transfer ruined this along due to the Covid 5 year eligibility. I'm sure we will now see more red shirts for extra year of eligibility to stack some of these teams. Secondly if you read all of your posts, you're LAX SNOBS. You want to see development, look to the "Lower" level teams and see whose moving up based on their recruiting and developing in house talent. You don't put any credence into players abilities unless they are in a top ten team.

Will be a long interesting to see what freshman get meaningful playing time this year with all of the shenanigans. Heard there will be special practice groups were sideline cellys will be the focus. Sad for these girls who will have to sit out and miss a year or more out doe to all the nonsense going on.

In my opinion, the girls that chose to go to these "top" teams have to know that their playing time will be limited on non existent due to the 5th years. It's something they will have to deal with. I know when my daughter was being recruited by a tip 5 team, they flat out told her the chances seeing the filed in her position was slim - she chose to go elsewhere. It's about what your daughter wants - sit on the bench of a "top" team or play for a "lower" team. The post above calling parents "lax snobs" his head on!

COVID year BS has been going on now for years. Fifth and 6th year (COVID plus a redshirt) women taking spots and playing time away from younger players everywhere - especially at high end lacrosse schools. One of the worst decisions (and that is saying something) the NCAA ever made. Thankfully, the 2023-2024 season is the end of the extra COVID year. The HS grad classes of 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020 were all progressively hosed. The 2020s, in particular didn't even have a final HS senior season.

Seems many unhappy players not seeing playing time at top schools, end up transferring to Clemson since they started their program. Suppose they see it as a start-up team and a wide-open opportunity to earn a spot on the field? Hearing mixed reviews on the greener grass down there lacosse-wise. Otherwise it sounds like a fun school to attend.

NO!!! They absolutely do not!! Possibly the seniors, but it should have ended there. I had a senior, and believe it would have been best to just let it go. This whole thing has been a disaster!! Sometimes thing happens in life that don’t need to be fixed. Just move on. What about the kids who were seniors in HS?? For most of them it would have been their last chance to play since they weren’t playing in college. Nobody “fixed” that. They did not get an extra year. They moved on and are fine. This whole thing is ridiculous!

The NCAA should have only given the covid year to true seniors. But they gave it to every class so here we are.

Taking spots , really. Whatever happened to coming in, competing and earning your spot. Nothing given , everything earned. This is Division 1 Athletics we are taking about.

Only so many girls can be on the field. If someone transfers in, especially an experienced player, yes they will most likely be taking spots. Not right, and could have been avoided if the NCAA wasn’t so incompetent

The ncaa should have given everyone the year w the caveat being if you take the year it had to be at the school where it occurred.

Try having a less selfish and entitled viewpoint. All our kids missed out in different ways. Some are still missing out as athletes take the extra year they “deserve” instead of moving on now 3+ years later. It is what it is and I don’t have a problem with athletes using the extra eligibility they were granted. Especially those whose 20 season was cut short and 21 season cancelled, like ivy leaguers. But, we are seeing more cases now where it comes across as selfish and at the expense of others. Think about the 2020 hs grads - no senior hs season, no meaningful fall ball to acclimate to college level of play and bond with off campus teammates, abnormal spring season with reduced schedule and competition, 5th and 6th years filling many awards and recognition, academic awards in particular dominated by grad students. I’m not arguing 2020s should have gotten the extra year because it had to stop, but they deserve it as much as the class or two ahead of them, in most cases.

Stop making excuses for your girls and have them work hard. If they’re school brings on a transfer, good, beat her out. Stop making excuses and earn play time.
This generation is weak, it’s pathetic; now we see why.
If you don’t play, too bad, you gotta earn it!

What are you talking about?

Who is "always bashing parents and kids for settling on a lower ranked team"?

Sorry, don't see it or hear it. Generally speaking, "lower ranked" teams and the players on those teams do not garner much attention on this site or anywhere else.

Not sure why you would make such a statement.

I have no problem with the grad year transfers as they lived up to their commitment and perhaps the school they are transferring to has a grad program they are looking at . The extra covid year are fine but they should have still kept the you have 5 years to complete 4 years of playing that they used to have. Some of these 6th year players are a bit much. The reason so many are annoyed with BC is they are poaching non grad players who have not lived up to their commitment to their previous teams etc.

Are you serious? It’s all over this site; both girls and boys forums. One example: belittling girls who choose to play at East Stroudsburg or New Paltz. Heck, probably anything below DI top 10 lol. It’s disgusting.

People argue that transferring is selfish and not a team player all so they can win a championship. Well, isn’t that what the Sienna COACH just do? In the article it states she can’t wait to compete for a National Championship. She just deserted her whole team to be an asset coach at Cuse. Also, think KK leaving was strange and quiet?

yeah, that was a BS move by the Sienna coach. Leaving just as her team is coming back to school for the year.

KK didn't like Syracuse in terms of the city not school. If you have been to Syracuse you can understand. No detest to cuse but she's from Boston there is a big difference.

Agree, have not seen many (if any) posts bashing lower ranked teams or the players who play for lower ranked teams. Unless of course you consider Maryland, Duke, Stanford, Notre Dame etc... "Lower ranked teams".
